I've been reading that its national carers week...
Something that was very close to me a few years back and an issue that many folk deal with on a day to day basis.

I heard a snippet of a radio discussion this afternoon that struck a particular chord with me....a woman who was a carer for her son until his death earlier in the year who received many letters praising her devotion and quality of care .....she went on to say she felt a little sad that no one had thought to tell her what a good job she was doing whilst she did it,but waited until after...

I know there are some wonderful carers on this thread both regular posters and no doubt the occasional passers through and lurkers....this week I would like to thank you for all you do for the person you care for and to remind you that whilst at times the job is hard and demanding....its the best thing that you do

I'm at the point where I can only look back on my time as a carer...during that time I found it frustrating,rewarding,challenging,motivating,hard,enjoyable,lonely,uplifting...the list of descriptives goes on...

....but most of all I'd give anything to have those days back.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Had a lovely trip to MrA with DS3. He had to pop to Argos to return a gazebo as MrA has a metal posted one for £25.?? Instead.

No large packs of cat food so just got smaller pack for now.

Ox tongue, was it off the deli, loose or prepacked? My store only had the prepacked, 3 thick slices for £3 :eek

After we shopped we went to Costa but once there decided on cake as well as coffee, my treat (my petrol too). The cake was morello cherry and vanilla, delicious but the bill

DS is off to Download fest on Wednesday so he may be taking my car, not the 2seater but my Meriva as its bigger inside, more boot space for tents, gazebo and folding chairs plus the cans of lager and bottles of booze.

DH cooked tea today, an all day breakfast but I had extra on my plate, black pudding yummmmm. When I lived Tyneside my mam used to buy White pudding, never see it here.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Car (focus) has failed big time. Was quoted just under £400 to get it through MOT now they have the back wheel arches off rust bucket been up to have a look and they reckon quote will double. :(

And to think OH and mechanic talked me out of getting a new well different ie not brand new car last year.

I got the clutch done last autumn as deciding I was keeping it and paid out for two new front tyres as I had a flat few weeks ago. Not happy. :o

Have the option of a 2012 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 for £4,900 which seems a very good price. I could go looking but not sure would get a better deal. Or I could pay out and get car repaired and run it for another year. But it will be due brakes and air con needs seeing to. :(

    I hate making decisions.
