We do this and it means that there is less water that has to evaporate, meaning the tiles and grout dry off quicker, giving less time when the tiles are damp when mould might grow.
I also use bleach mixed with baking powder, to give a paste which is less likely to drip off. The baking powder also gives it a bit of a scrub.
Great tips Violetta - a squeegee is a good idea and one my dad suggested. The grouting is looking a bit brighter since I applied bleach (on strips) at the weekend. It's something I need to keep on top of though, due to the lack of ventilation (windows) and the size of the shower room. Bleach does work wonders though if applied correctly. :T0 -

Thank you. Can you buy this in a high street hard ware store or is it only available online?

Is your machine integrated? Can you leave an integrated machine door open?
Excuse my ignorance, but what does integrated mean? I leave my door open at night and after every use. But, unfortunately the damage has been done. Will probably get another seal and start as I mean to go on.0 -

I agree that it's great stuff, the results last ages. It's streets ahead of any other cleaner or bleach I've used.
I have bought it from Amazon and from B&Q, Homebase and similar stores.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.

Our shower room upstairs is also very poorly ventilated
My tips are
Squideegee after every shower
Never leave damp towels in there
Open the window after everyone has finished in there
Tbh when it's just hubby and me it's a piece of cake. We are on oil so showers are only minutes and we don't steam the room too much. It's when we have visitors, used to a combi and as much hot water as they like, is when we have problemss0 -
I've become a big fan of harsh 'specific job' cleaning chemicals recently.
I can't recommend the HG mould spray enough for getting rid of the black mould marks -should work on the washing machine seal too, be careful to minimise any spilling in the drum and maybe run an empty rinse cycle before putting clothes thru it again
I've also used their descaler all over my bathroom -particularly effective on glass screens and taps, on tiles I found it more effective to use a metal 'stanley knife blade' holding scraper as the scale had build up more.
The same brand degreaser worked well in my kitchen for blitzing my extractor hood
I really didn't think much of their grouting cleaner tho -I found ordinary bleach mixed with bicarb of soda and scrubbing with a toothbrush was more effective (being a paranoid sort I was also using rubber gloves and safety glasses)0
