What is the most effective way of cleaning tile grouting

I was wondering if somebody could advise me...

I'm having a really hard time staying on top of the mould that quickly builds up on the grouting on bathroom tiles... I've tried bleach and anti mould preparations and although it helps somewhat it isn't long before I'm back to Square 1. Does anybody have any longer term solutions besides re-grouting? I also live in a hard water area and limescale tends to build up on the glass screen. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thank you. :j

Why so much mould buid up ? Is your bathroom very steamy and damp . If so increase ventilation.

Yes, it's a small shower room without a window (rented flat). There is an extractor fan, but it only helps somewhat...It's not as bad as it might sound, but I've heard black mould can be difficult to shift.

When you bleach, use thin strips of bleach-soaked loo paper to keep the bleach in contact for longer and check they don't dry out. 30 mins-1hr later and they'll be dazzling

Great tip. I've also been applying grout reviver using a special pen (but the pen doesn't last very long). I've been spraying bleach onto the tiles, but as you would expect it just drips downwards. How long do you leave the loo paper on for?

Bleach in a wee cup, old toothbrush, scrub on and leave. 30 mins and you're sorted

This stuff really does work. It's a spray.

Cillit Bang Power Cleaner Black Mould Remover.

    Much better than bleach.

Thanks for all of the replies. I've put neat bleach on the grouting and left if for a couple of hours. Not completely gone, but a lot better than it was. I will persevere and give all the above tips a go. There is a bit of black mould in the corner of the shower tray that just won't shift though.

I have also noticed the same mould on the washing machine seal (it's already been replaced in the last year). It leaves an unpleasant smell in the drum, although the machine is otherwise clean. Any ideas how I can remedy this? I live in a rented apartment at the moment, so some things can't be (and aren't) fixed unless urgent.

Are you using liquid, and not a powder?

Try soda crystals and the hottest wash possible i.e a white boil wash
