But that wasnt the rule at that time. You might just as well say "Why did I get a ticket on a yellow line that was put in a year ago, it was free before then!"0

So in other words, you really are a hypocrite. You seek advice on here rather than tell you son just to pay up as he broke the rules. Yet you complain that others don't just pay up. Not an MP by chance are you ?
Oh, in addition, it's noticeable how you avoid answering the difficult questions that are going to make you look a bit silly. Yes, you really must be an MP."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

No one has asked what your employer does or doesn't do and unless you work for a ppc I doubt anyone here cares.
You seem determined not to answer a simple question - what do YOU THINK of PE not adhering to their COP?
I see you've now called posters "stepford wives" to add to the earlier insults.
In the absence of a substantive response people will be left to draw their own conclusions about your position. To me, it seems like you are not self aware enough to admit you're wrong. That you appear to believe nice people or family members who make a mistake shouldn't be penalised but if needed will resort to legalese but people who you don't like (Mr Beavis) should be penalised because they haven't argued they made a mistake and are fighting on a point of principle for the benefit of ALL consumers - that companies cannot impose a penalty on an individual.Originally Posted by shortcrust

But that wasnt the rule at that time. You might just as well say "Why did I get a ticket on a yellow line that was put in a year ago, it was free before then!"
But then how clear was the time change? Did PE put up huge obvious signs telling people the time dropped by 33%? Or did they just change the small print and hope no-one would notice?
There's something in the CoP about making customers aware of changes for a changeover period, that PE have been caught out breaching before, I've no reason to believe they've folled it in this case either.
It's totally different to parking on a new yellow line (which is completely unmissable), to not reading a small sign 8ft off the ground to check the terms haven't changed since the last time you were in.0 -
Our local council puts up large information signs at the entrance of their car parks when the P&D times or charges are altered. I bet not many PPCs do that. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
-
Motorists also need to be aware that a Beavis type car park where the PPC pays the landowner significant sums is far more widespread than might first appear.
Any retail car park not controlled by a public body where there are a number of retailers could have these kick-back arrangements.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
I would liken the court case to entering the grand national on a pet donkey.
The PPC industry can afford the best lawyers in the Country to run this race.
The appellant has a team of volunteers.
Judges have a long standing reputation of siding with higher lawyers.
The result, the Donkey loses and Parking Charge invoices are now high case law.
The Donkey wins and they all carry on as before fleecing people.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
But that wasnt the rule at that time. You might just as well say "Why did I get a ticket on a yellow line that was put in a year ago, it was free before then!"
I repeat - under the free time limit originally wanted and enforced previously by the landowner and retailers (those parties who matter) there was no overstay. Someone moved the goalposts - why did they move those goalposts? That's the question. It would be different if we could say it was the landowner but allegedly, it wasn't.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Still waiting... :whistle:My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

This topic has evolved into a verbal punch up and I feel a bit like Rodney King. I have tried not to insult individual posters.
The concept of someone having a different opinion to others seems to inflame certain posters emotions and is beyond the grasp of the genetically deficient individuals involved. Posting hyperlinks to my previous posts in a feeble attempt to discredit anything I may have posted again shows the inability of these single celled organisms to grasp the idea of free speech and free thinking so proves they should refrain from venturing far from the primordial ooze in which they inhabit.
I have tried to resist the strong temptation to lower myself to the level of others but the amount of effluent emanating from the keyboards of the dim witted makes it unavoidable.
It is important that posters remember that criticism is just prejudice made plausible.
I am amazed that some knuckle dragging Neanderthals’ have mastered the QWERTY keyboard, however have failed to stick to the topic being discussed and fail miserably at containing their anger
.
I do laugh at some of the nonsense ejaculated onto this forum by these unusual suspects, and the questionable motivation for doing so, perhaps to lead a peasant rebellion, but as long as they are doing something constructive with the other hand that’s o.k. by me.
So my stance has not changed Beavis should pay up

I thought we'd been very careful to keep this discussion at a reasonable level of adult debate, not allowing it to degenerate into such personal attack, and which has now been visited on many regular posters who give immense amounts of their free time to help people in distress - including this ultimate hypocrite and the fruit of his loins.
You've obviously decided the gloves are off Arthur!
Have you shown this thread and your comments to your son, who is seemingly trying his best to wriggle off the same charge that Barry Beavis faced - and with your unashamed connivance?
What a thoroughly nasty post. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
