Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 11th August, 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
Belated birthday greetings Csarina, and WA congrats Pen-Pen just read yesterday's thread. Welcome newbies. Moiliere how can you say we are slightly batty on here, I have to claim full insanity!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Prayers for Jackie0 hope the op. went OK, and we hear from her soon.
(((((((((hugs)))))))))) all round
Last full day/night here before we fly home:eek:
Very hot, can't stand my hair down at all. Turned cloudy yesterday though still 30 deg. even have light showers forecast tomorrow/Monday but lowest temp. forecast is 28 deg. Very muggy. However, Wednesday (my birthday) is forecast at a very sunny 35 deg., back home (where I will be) no rain forecast yet but a high of 18 deg   . I've given up trying to organise a BBQ for it as normally it rains on that day.
Off to the market this morning, to see what is on offer, don't want much as only today/tomorrow to cater for and on a use up the session. Need to go early as later is very crowded and the heat knocks you into the ground. So will get DH out of the pit shortly (6.55 am here). Went out last night for a meal with friends very nice, and I only had fresh pinapple for dessert:A . Getting very frustrated with this weight thing, being really good both on eating and drinking front, but why is it that when you go out you see all these stick insect type creatures drinking full sugar drinks, eating ice creams, doughnuts etc., and I don't have them but still have to watch everything:mad:
Rzl - I loved the dress too, but how do you all go on with these which have the belt 2" above the waist, I don't feel right.
MIL's I had a brilliant one, been gone some 10 years now but certainly wishes she was still here, and hope I can be the same in the future. Going through a grown up son with GF's, it is so hard trying to make contact.
Right off to sit outside while it is as cool as it gets, daylight just breaking.
Take care
DG

Hi DONNYGAL - good to hear from you! Safe journey back tomorrow. Good morning to anyone who posts at the same time as me!
DH is due back home from France at around 8 o'clock this morning; he'll have had a night-time sailing on the ferry - not the best way to cross the channel - it's almost impossible to get any sleep. No doubt he'll be dozing on the sofa before long! I did loads yesterday to save being busy today so I might just have a lazy day in the sunshine. The weather looks very promising although I'm quite cold at the moment. Need a shower to warm me up.
Dinner will be mince with veg and gravy - one of DH's favourites and an easy meal to cook. Must put the BM on in a mo and warn the WM that it will be back to daily loads again! No doubt the ironing pile that I've proudly disposed of will grow again now that he's home!
Anyway, not much else to say a the moment so will go grab my shower.
Will catch up later.

Morning to everyone and hopes that you all have a happy day.
Up really early after a very disturbed night . You know you cant sleep when you can count you have done over a hundred pelvic floor exercises at least 3 times in the night !!!! No I have not just had a baby but never mind that.
Well I hope every wakes up to sunshine like it is here.
Had a very busy few days . So lovely to see everyone especially old friends. brilliant pasta bake from Good Food last night.
Well I am going to lay up the breakfast things before everyone rises.
Hugs to anyone not feeling perky today.0 -

Hi to all the earlybirds and those who follow! Nice bright morning here, might make a pot of coffee in a moment and sit outside with the birds tweeting and the cat (who likes the birds but is terrified of them  so she will sit on my lap).
Had a wonderful evening last night with my friends, her husband cooked us a lovely barbecue and she'd made an enormous gateau, and a trifle, AND fruit salad!! Had to try all three of course, guess that diet will have to wait another day. have to admit I did seem to be a bit tipsy when I finally wobbled home - no idea what time :rotfl: - and DH complained about the amount of garlic I seem to have ingested:rotfl: but a great time was had by all. It was a beautiful night for sitting out under the stars and just yakking.
Today I have to sing at a wedding at lunchtime which totally mucks up my eating arrangements, so I have no idea what we will have or when. I have lots of salad-y stuff left in the fridge to use up before we go away on Monday so no doubt it will be used to cobble something together, probably about 3 o'clock.
I ploughed through all my ironing yesterday, yay! so don't have any to do today. However OH STILL hasn't picked out his holiday clothes so I'm expecting another huge pile of laundry to descend at any moment.
Hugs to those who need them
Have a lovely day everyone!

Morning all,
There's supposed to be a postal strike here today, so nothing to look forward to there. Might just write a few more songs. Maybe start preparing for going on holiday in a couple weeks. Generally just a quiet and fairly relaxed day for me.
Have a nice one all.

good morning everyone - any more newbies to come out of the woodwork?? I was falling asleep at about 8PM last night so the cheesecake didnt' get made; will do it today.
NIppy here right now; hopefully in a bit it will warm up! Cats are outside; when they went out yesterday eve after the fence had been put back up; they were like 'what the ***??!? where are the trees??!'
Yard looks so different! And the fence so zig-zaggy!
that will have to be fixed.
With help.
From friends.
Soon.
And neighbours.
then a BBQ.0 -
