TV Licensing

If you buy a television licence then they will not contact you.
If you dont want to watch television then you shouldnt have one.
If you use a television for watching films and never for receiving transmissions then I suggest you get a licence anyway since the chances are that you will watch television at some stage and that means you are lying. If your adamant that you do not watch television then you should allow the tv inspector in since you have nothing to lose.
It seems to me that people who kick up a stink about this are either lying or sad and have nothing to do and claim benefits.0 -
Well there's a false generalisation. I received quite threatening letters for quite a while. And I did watch television, but we already had a TV licence covering our address. So which category does that put me? By your logic I should have just bought second licence. I quite honestly think you haven't read most of the posts on here or misunderstood them. Why should people who don't have a TV let anyone into their house? What is quite sad is people who go around trolling.dangeroussports wrote: »It seems to me that people who kick up a stink about this are either lying or sad and have nothing to do and claim benefits."She is quite the oddball. As I said before I and my dad use the TV exclusively for DVDs. But that is no reason to let some half-wit into my house to poke around. And neither is it reason to fork out for a !!!!!! tax to support a company that doesnt even deliver quality television.0 -
I agree with the comment about the television being !!!!!! and aimed at people with below average intelligence but your refusal allow a 'half-wit' into your home to 'poke around' is a poor aurgument. It would be over in a matter of minutes and you can then get back to your life.
Life is too important to worry about these things. Why are you so driven to this cause? Could you not displace this resentment to a worthy cause instead?0 -

I thought that was the whole point of the "consumer vent board"? If you disagree with the point of the thread then why are you posting on it at all?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Wouldn't that make me have a "myopic view"? I've got no reason to add people to an ignore list. If I disagree with someone I find it better to think about that disagreement rather than just ignore it. I've got no problems in us having differing views I just have a problem in the way you disagree and why you have to be personally insulting just because people don't have the same opinion as you."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
