I assumed the idea of this board was to fight for the consumer then a like it or lump it attitude is not one I subscribe to.

Fair enough, and I was a bit hasty to say that. What gets on my nerves are stories along the lines of:

'I listed something, got a warning, did it again and now I'm suspended'
'I got my account suspended, I opened a new one, it got suspended and now I've lost access to the money in my paypal account'

The other thing that gets on my nerves are people who make posts suggesting new ways to make the situation worse - ie. Dave suggesting you shouldn't stick to ebay's rules because they're 'unfair'. On your head be it when people who take your advice get themselves NARU.

If you play with fire, ebay will burn you, no mistake. If ebay makes a mistake, there are almost always ways to resolve it, and I'm confident that OP hasn't reached the end of the possibilities - it just takes persistence.

I am not trying to find ways to pull the wool over Ebays eyes, but also just because Ebay have a rule for something doesn't make it right

No-one's got a gun to anyone's head making them use ebay. Their customer service may not be up to much, but show me an ebay 'rule for something' that's blatantly unfair, unjust or otherwise unreasonable.

I *think* I can be objective enough to say that if a real company (rather than one that does not publish its UK address) treated cutomers in the arbitary way ebay does, there would be an outcry from Consumer Groups, but its not, so the consumer can expect to put up with poor service.

And going elsewhere isn't a real option is it?!

Still, it may well motivate me to set up my own website and get trading that way.

Anyone point me in the right direction for a tutorial on how to set up my own site?

(I plan to make millions, buy ebay, then shut it down for no good reason :) )

Assuming we are talking about mothercare then I can't see their name on the Vero Programme Members list.

Where do you find the Vero Programme to check whats on it please?

In an unexpected turn of events, the store have made representations to ebay and it looks like we might be re-instated.

Not counting chikens or anything, but I am hopeful (and glad I stuck to the rules...!)

    And finally...

    My account has been re-instated!!!

I would like to thank everyone for your advice and support - and although I did not breach eBay rules by setting up another account, the whole experience was frustrating - Purely because eBays Customer Service is pants!

    Thank you
