Looks as if there is one at Charing Cross station - but not clear what the fees would be - any ideas?

It's unclear whether it would be converted into pounds and back again

You gotta be in it to win it, and who knows you might even get a Brucie!

Raphaels Bank ATMs are your best bet. Your suspicions are well founded but IIRC others have used them to make straight euro withdrawals from prepaid euro cards. They are a foreign bank, whereas Travelex and MoneyCorp multi currency ATMs in airports would without doubt expensively convert twice.

  • We are traveling to Singapore and Australia in March and we have never used a pre paid card before. I have tried to research which one is best and at the moment it seems to revolut. Does anyone have any knowledge of this card and can we use it using a apple Ipad?
Any information would be useful. Thanks

I'm not sure about the iPad, but there's plenty of info and reports earlier in this thread and in the Revolut thread on the main overseas board.

No problems with the application on the iPad. Certainly easier than on a phone, for male fingers.

Looking at the Revolut card, in their Terms and conditions, it says that you are not covered for any fraudulent use of your card?
So if it gets cloned or stolen, then you lose all your money?
I think it sounds like you keep it blocked and then only use it for cash machines!
There's not a complete lack of protection with UK prepaid cards.

On this forum 'Revolut Official' has stated that "We will always strive to win chargebacks on behalf of our customers."

  • I am using a global prepaid card for the first time, it is loaded in sterling. I am not sure what I should do if I am asked if I want to pay in sterling or local currency. I know Martin recommends paying in local currency on credit cards, is it the same for a sterling prepaid card?

    Yes.

    What card do you have?
  • It's a FAIRFX card
  • Just come back from 12 days in India and took the REVOLUT card with me, have to report back that I had no problems at all using this card, took cash out, paid for hotels and bought stuff with it and there was not one problem with it, would recommend this card to anyone that asked, no charges for using any of their services abroad, all in all a fabulous card to go travelling with.
