My only reservation with Revolut is the large amount of permissions the app requires - it appears to be overkill.

I have just received this info from Ukash.......

    Dear Customer,
The Ukash Prepaid Travel Card programme is undergoing some changes following the takeover of the programme in July last year. These changes will come into effect on 10th April, 2016 and are summarised below

    Name Change
The Ukash Prepaid Travel Card Programme is being rebranded and changing to the Rebel Prepaid Travel Card Programme. You should see changes being made to the branding across the website but your card will continue to operate as normal.

    Fee Changes
Unfortunately, with new interchange regulations coming into place, some of the fees are also changing. These changes are summarised below.

    Fees eur

    Monthly fee Old Fee free
    New Fee* 1.20 euro
    ATM Old Fee free
    New fee 2 euro
    INACTIVITY fee Old fee free
    New fee 5 euro

    * The new fees come into effect on 2nd April, 2016
** The Inactivity fee is applied if there is more than 60 days of inactivity

Hi, I've had the same email. I got mine last summer, used it on holiday, and it's been sat in a drawer ever since waiting for the next trip.

I think the MSE advice last year was NOT to cancel this card because that incurred a fee, but that there was no inactivity charge. I wonder if we now have to either pay the cancellation charge to get shut of it, or get stung for an inactivity charge?
  • That's what I was concerned about. I wonder what the cancellation fee will be after April as that's when the charges start.
Can they do this, as it's not what we signed up for???
Cancellation fee was €12 euros when I took it out.
I have emailed them but not had a reply yet

    I've had the same issue.

I've emailed them to say as they've changed their T&Cs I'd like to cancel. I doubt they'll waive the fee though

  • I am travelling to Iceland and understand that it is pretty much cashless society and it would be best to take a prepaid card. Does anyone have any advice please.

I've done the same. Won't be impressed if I'm charged.
  • I have a ukash travel money card which will change to a Rebel card in April
They are introducing fees to withdraw money etc & an inactivity fee of 5 euro !
  • I got the same email from UKash. Gave their customer service a ring. They won't waive the cancellation charge but did point out that if you have no balance on the card then they cannot take the fees. They also pointed out that if the card expires then they won't auto renew it. So if you have no money on the card and it expires soon then just wait for it to expire. It won't cost anything.
If you do have money on the card then you have two months to spend it all before the fees increase.
