Try parking so that the rear end is just a little bit further into the road than the wing mirror. This may well help the issue.Never Knowingly Understood.

They'll just go smashing into the rear light, I saw this happen to the same car several times over the course of a few years, when I used to cycle to work in the late 90's. It started with the wing mirror, they started parking at an angle and then they started getting smashed tail lights.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
