    geminilady,

thanks for posting the video. I'd read about the clip but hadn't watched it. I'm glad it'll be a whole before littlewing is internet-enabled.

It reminded me of the experiments where they tried to coax children from playgrounds and the shock of the parents when the children went.

It is really hard to know how to get the message through to children effectively, yet still give them trust in the world and in themselves.

We went for lunch and had a good time. Then I came home and slept it off. Should be treadmilling it off really.

MU I feel for you with the twatty housemate situation. I have been having exactly the same problem for two years and it's awful. As other have said it is sad for the child but it is also sad for you and you pay to live there too. My housemate is just selfish about the situation and lets his three year old scream and wake me up several times a week. They have entirely taken over the lounge and kitchen so that I can rarely use them. He never tides the mess up either as he considers it 'women's work'. I've politely pointed out he needs to tidy up his mess several times and most recently this ended in a row where he made the 'women's role' comments.

So now I've just let it go and accepted he won't consider others. I've also stopped tidying up after him and don't go in the communal areas. The noise I'm coping with by using bioears earplugs every night. They're brilliant and I'm less upset by the situation because I'm not sleep deprived. I've also used it as a catalyst to save for my own place. It has made me focus on saving every penny in a way that I wouldn't if I'd been living somewhere nice.

You're obviously bright and motivated and are clearly going to end up running a store so you will be able to get your own place one day. Try to use it as a focus to slowly improve your financial position, which you are already making a lot of progress with. Splash out on some good earplugs to help you get some sleep, it's really important when you have MH problems.

One thing i am grateful for in this house is a)people do clean up after themselves and b)my landlords wife comes and cleans the communal areas once a week!

I already sleep with ear plugs, its a throw back to when i worked in a nightclub at uni and had to deal with 23 other housemates! (seriously....there were 24 of us in one house! )

I know i'm not going to be here forever (i bloody hope not) but hopefully if i can save and eventually either get promoted or a better paying job i'll have my own place.

Tbh its saves my sanity a little that at least twice a week i stay at Swain's so i have a bit of an escape from it.

Sorry you're also stuck with twatty housemates :( it sucks but like you said in some ways its giving you the encouragement to save up and hopefully get a better place of your own at some point :)

welcome Babafette, hope you find the thread helpful and know anytime you need to vent or just need somewhere safe (yay banket fort!) you're always welcome here.

re: !!!!!!, it doesn't bother me that Swain watches it, he's a guy, i know men typically find visual stimulus more of a turn on (not that women don't also), i've watche dit in the past but tbh i prefer to just ...um...use my imagination. Plus it only takes me 5 mins anyway :o he takes much longer.. :o

Ello baba - welcome to the blanket fort.

Moo - maybe we should swop husbands for a bit? Mine never, ever, ever shuts up - singing, tapping, humming, talking.....he often des not realise he is doing it until I scream at him that if he clicks that pen one more time I am going to shove it where the sun don't shine etc.....I reckon a day with mine and you would want yours back!!!
Do try and eat something honey - go find your favourite food and then lick it..........sometimes that then makes me hungry and able to eat a little.

Anyhoo.......My day ok, told hubby I was thinking of doing a masters degree for a year and he was very supportive, dug and lined the new path in back garden and even managed to discuss in-laws with hubby - which always causes explosive arguments between us, but we managed to talk today.

{{squishes}} for those in house shares.

So he's up and slamming around, I think I'm supposed to cook again have taken the dogs into the living room and am ignoring him.
He hasn't even had the CBT yet and I want to strangle him.

Bangers have just gone off (some neighbours are silly) so upstairs Child is now screaming and sounds like having g a lie on his back kicking tantrum.

Advice on how to handle HA please. Friend has shown me a bungalow that is now vacant I'm going to ask for it

Sorry to all those having a carpy time of it... No constructive advice just hugs, squishes or warm handshakes to those that would like them.

    Welcome to newbies.

Thought I would share some pics of my friend who I rode on to my camp in the Sahara desert last night (home on Saturday!) as he and his friends were cute and furry if a little smelly! :)
