MessedUp, you should adopt the letter μ as your symbol!

MessedUp is shortened to MU. Mu is the Greek letter μ!

  • Sorry I've been gone for a while. Been a bit of a rough time.

Had to see the doc last Thursday as the doctor who saw me before messed my prescription up. He forgot to press the repeat button. Anyway seems my B12 deficiency? He thinks it's caused by my PPI pill. Can cause malabsorption issues and need the injections for life. My old surgery hadn't check my levels since November! Doctor wasn't happy. Also worried about my iron and vit D levels. Possibly two types of anaemia yay(!). Got to have a full vitamin bloods check. My platelets were high he said on my last blood count, not borderline like they were telling me on the phone. So all that is getting checked. Then I'm being referred to the hospital as a possible cancer case for my growing itchy mole on my stomach. The place that gets the least sun on me lol. He's 95-98% sure it's not cancer but it needed checking and removing. Plus side they had no issues with my pills, they want to find out what's up with me and for some weird reason thinks my pain medication is too low but if I'm coping good. This coming after the bad surgery I saw saying it was too high! Doctors need to make their mind up.

Sounds like you're having a tough time :( sorry everything seems to be happening at once. Doctors can unfortunately be somewhat hit and miss.

I am also raging on your behalf, Ginger. Binge eating is a recognised ED symptom. Of course the centres take people over 25, I was offered a place at 36. What an annoying woman! When you see your psychiatrist talk to him about the SSRI called Escitalopram. It may not be right for you but I take it because I can't take any of the other SSRI's. It is pure serotonin without the rest of the chemical stuff included. It is expensive so they don't offer it as a first choice.

Sorry WaS, but I'm allergic to SSRIs. Like all of them. Proper, balloon face, swollen tongue, closed eyes allergic. :(

That's why I get the old, doesn't work very well lofepramine which no one takes any more. Same class as amitriptyline but next to no one takes it any more. Except me.
Well, first off, she's talking through her backside, of course it's an eating disorder.

Secondly, and please take this piece of advice in the way it's intended. In that, I'm not having a go, merely offering up some gentle advice.

She obviously doesn't know what she is talking about, and was no use what so ever. I'm sorry she wasn't more helpful to you and that she didn't understand your issues with food, but her being 'skinny' has nothing to do with it. That's as bad as a slim woman going to the doctors and saying "The fat woman", you just wouldn't do it. It's wrong to fat shame, but doing the same to slim people is just as bad.

Sorry Georgie. I was trying to be brief as the post was becoming quite long. That's not the way I intended to come across.

When I told the doctor about the bingeing and how worried I was about my obesity, she told me that she did it too and it's perfectly normal.

She often binged after a bad day at work and could put away four samosas or three bhajis and still want more.

As far as she's concerned, binge eating without purging is a symptom and not an eating disorder in it's own right.

    PENGUIN

Yeah, cuz eating so much you have to lie down and let the nausea pass, then getting up to eat more is not a big problem, is it?

    END PENGUIN
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

What computer do you use? If you use an iPad, I can tell you how to do it. (Don't know how to do it on any other device, though.)

Gingernutty, why does she think 4 samosas or three bhajis is binging? I despair sometimes.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Georgie and Onomatopeia! I thought I'd posted yesterday but turns out it was all in my head! :o

WaS, I also thought I'd commented on your kung fun fighters but hadn't... I bloomin' love them! :D

You're also definitely not powerful enough to kill of Patrick Macnee! He was 93, it's no-one's fault, just old age. xxx

If we're doling out Greek letters, I'd like to be β! :)
