Happy new year good luck with the job hunting definitely have a think s out what you will enjoy maybe look into working for yourself might be worth it.

Also good luck for DS agree he needs to earn his own money but charity work is good experience and looks great on a cv.

Cold morning fire and heating turned on....naughty I know, but suffer with white finger (years working on machinery) so have terrible problems with fingers during winter months.
Have started the year badly as regards to savvy savings.Bought myself a new coat £30 could have managed with old, bought DS new winter coat, he has lots so another silly buy. Icelandy yesterday £35 spend not needed freezer stocked already, subby sandwiches £6 yesterday again silly, much better spend would have been chicken breasts or joints that would have certainly managed more than one meal. These are just a few I can remember........my gosh I have fell off the sensible savvy wagon and at the worst time as now no job in the pipeline. I am soooo annoyed with myself!.
Horrible job from before Christmas finally coughed up extras payment after a long exhausting meeting of explanations and bartering on their side, but happy now the business account is starting to turn from red to pink still £300-400 in the red so slowly getting there, would be lots quicker if I can manage to pull the spending reigns in from today :o:o
DS working on his cv and looking for a job, he is going to apply for as many as possible. I will be doing the same, really want to go self employed maybe open a little shop or market stall, then DS could work for me, but truth is I am frightened to use my mortgage savings, then lose the lot (haven't dismissed this idea fully as yet....will give some more thinking time). Thing is we owe 100k on the mortgage and I am 30k off my target, as the house is worth approx 230k it would be a massive risk:(
    On the plus side
Last wage from work with good bonus and left over euros puts mortgage finally back past the 70k mark:T.
Also all DD covered till end of March massive breathing space.........:T
OH has just landed a very well paid job :D and has been ok ish well manageable ;) (could have been better!)as regards to his problem since we got back.
right then time to get my backside into gear......house work and ironing screaming out:)

Good luck whatever you decide I would start small maybe just a notice in local newsagent/supermarket offering what you can do like cleaning or gardening whatever you fancy. Even help with books/accounts might be useful.

Agree re applying for jobs good time of year should be loads o coming up where people have held off due to DS does need to learn to stand on his own two feet so no need to keep buying him things but as for yourself £30 for a coat isn't that much really.

Anyway good luck with the job hunting.

    Thankyou TG Xx
Wow sorry to have disappeared for a week....where does the time go? ;)
Nothing much to report really, positive week all in all but still nothing on the job front ...truth is haven't really looked to be honest, thought I would enjoy a couple of weeks of unemployment, but have been helping DS. Still like the thought of self employment but nervous......need to do lots of research first :).
Started my small savings club EF for the end of the year £5 a week £10 in total saved...hope to keep up.
OH paid yesterday for very first job of the year and was very profitable also went without problem for a change....business account finally now a lovely shade of green and the rest thrown into my mortgage savings.
£35 in vouchers received, a nice perk from merchants for materials purchased on horrible job....spent them icelandy yesterday freezer now stocked to the brim.
Feeling very sleepy, had a late night last night then tossed and turned and up at 6am, ....might just snuggle on the sofa for a hours catch up :):)

    Hiya

I'm so glad you got the money from the bad job pre Christmas, and your account is now looking so good. You have both worked so hard and deserve it.

Mortgage on the way up again with £200 paid in this morning at long last :T
Horrible job still with-holding over £1,200 in payment, without the slightest legitimate excuse.on their part (ignoring phone-calls, texts, numerous invoices) if they have an issue why cant they just pick up the phone?....the stress and headache that job has brought and now they wont pay for all the extas they promised, how I wish we had had a time machine or crystal ball when considering taking that job on. What gets me so angry is when I look at our business account glowing red and the worry when having to use monies from other jobs to play catch up (robbing peter to pay paul)....when we would have had and should have a very healthy business account at the moment..these people are sooooo without morals, the sad thing is one of them is a solicitor and we believe she is using her position and profession as a way of intimation and getting out of paying, I also don't believe we are the first she has done this to and certainly won't the last ( will be making these peoples names known to as many tradesmen as possible as a warning)....anyway nothing we can do, small businesses as always lose out in situations like this, its a fact really with all the hassle and payment of small claims courts...sometimes not worth it, for what they consider smaller amounts.......Moan and groan well needed and over for now Lol.:mad:
My job coming to end finally confirmed in writing yesterday end of January 17..........seem to have stuck head firmly in sand and leaving it there for a little while, or until I can focus and face it....fresh start and hoping for better outlook next year.:D
off into town this morning, grab a few last pressies and see my Dmamma which always cheers me up :D

been reading not got to the end yet but didn't want to miss this bit. If she is a legal professional, a nice letter saying you will be taking her to small claims court should be enough to make her pay. Can you imagine how embarassing that would be if she had to stand up in front of people she knows in her job and explain why she hasn't paid. you. Go for it!

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Thanks Chev, would have probably resorted to small claims, but they paid up thankfully x

Feeling very sad this morning a long week topped off with weekend filled with usual stress, OH and his problem rearing its ugly head as it always does:mad: .....................soooo exhausted :(
Need to get out of the house with DS.... a long bus ride maybe....not bothered about the destination as long as it blows away the cobwebs of the draining last few days.
Hoping for a normal day tomorrow....................:)
