Well done nothing today, my house is not as it should be and my OCD is giving me goosebumps....the heat is unbearable and just cant get motivated. Managed to pay £50 off mortgage so nice little dent, and another £5 onto my £2 teabay all helps. Listed at-least 20 items to sell so hoping the proceeds will pay next months CC, giving me time to totally focus again on my mortgage. Not going to bother doing a To Do list as cant really see me doing much, time for afternoon nap.....

    CC £7,500…. Mortgage/repairs £40,080
    Tea bay/£2 a day £245

Why aren't you overpaying on your CC? Even if its on 0% at the moment, you need to be targeting the one where the 0% ends soonest first. The MSE way would be to save any spare money into an interest bearing account until the last week of the 0% then clear the CC with the savings. You'd have it paid off in a year, then you could throw even more at the mortgage, without the mental burden of debts.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Hi Satch, yes I agree and there lies the problem. I have a complicated home life (understatement) and so the thought of paying off my mortgage, so I don't lose my house is my no1 priority, it is always in the forefront of my mind, I have nightmares about it..... My partner is a good, decent man but without going into detail he has problems, and I don't know how long it will be before these issues start to effect us all or how long he will manage to work, I don't know how long I can keep saving these large amounts towards my mortgage, without his knowledge. I handle all the financial affairs and so I have the money hid away in a high interest account bond in my DS name ( mainly so there is money for him if anything happens in the future), you probably think this as being deceitful. The money is not for me, I am very frugal with everything I can. All these secrets tear me apart but in the end when the house is paid for my OH will be grateful I have done this. If there was any other way I would do it believe me......The CC debt is my last priority as I know it cant effect me in the same way as my mortgage, I cant be thrown out of my house because of my CC. The thing is you are right I should pay my CC first, it annoys me that I cant. Sorry I have gone on and on, I feel I needed to explain because I feel guilty. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and again sorry for the major rant........:)

Listed lots of clothing on teabay, so hoping they will bring in a good amount of cash for CC. I need to clear the loft room and the shed out, don't know what treasures I might find........
Have £10 left over from a very frugal last week, so will pay that off my mortgage tomorrow, funny how paying just a small amount off my Mortgage gives me a glow, before I would waste £10 without blinking, not now I am a changed woman I hope :) .Should be able to through another £30 at my mortgage account on Wednesday 15th but wait and see how good I can be till then. Oh and it bingo night tomorrow, with money off coupon and fountain free drinks, 29p sweeties bought should only cost me £4.29 plus might have a lovely win.

    Tea bay/£2 a day £250

safehouse rant all you want. We all gave debt to pay off and how you pay off that debt, may not be the MSE Way but if it works for you that's what matters.
You are doing what is best for you and your family. Keep up the good work hun and have a winning night at bingo. xx

Thankyou Doris, having a bad day emotionally today :(Your little message of support although in the beginning overwhelmed me and made me feel sorry for myself, even had a little cry silly, silly me..... But really meant a lot to me. My situation really isn't all just about the debt although a major part. Thanks again, not being judged is a new concept for me............ you have given me a well needed boost x:A

I didn't pay all my debts off on the 'right' order either. Doris is right, you need to do what works for you x

Thankyou Skinny I agree everyone's personal situation does have an impact on how and when they pay their debts. mine is very complicated, but even though I probably will pay more in the long run, the feeling of satisfaction makes it all worthwhile. Also because I am doing this behind my OH back it comes across as being deceitful..... the words of support from this site really help....keep me motoring on, so will try for happy face today :)
especially as its raining this morning, love the raindrops tapping at the window, cheers me up haha x

Safehouse, I didn't see your post as a rant. Okay, so you're not doing the debt repayments in the usual MSE way but as the others say, it's your way and it that works for you, go for it.

I handle all our financial accounts and if I announced to my hubby that the house was all ours he'd be delighted! Fingers crossed for the end of next year. I don't tell him where the money goes, he's not interested (he runs his business accounts) so long as everyone is paid every month, it's down to me.

Onwards and downwards, financially only :):)
