After checking the wording of their reply to my appeal:
"Thank you for your letter of appeal against the above parking charge notice issued to you on 12th April 2015 at 10.22am for reason ‘Non Patron’ at ‘Heartsease Pub, Plumstead Road, Norwich’. "
I think the pub but need to check their first letter so will get back to you tomorrow.
The pub wasn't open therefore it was impossible for the driver to be a patron. A classic case of frustration of contract.

NPE signs are inside the car park and are displayed several times outside to PH and where the blue bays that belong to the PH are situated. The signs state no parking for non-patrons for 24hrs per day. The signs have the acronym ANPR and a camera logo on them. There is a post with a camera on them above the PH.

Yes enfield freddy I did email Aldi last night asking for their help. I have read lots of recommendations on this forum to complain to the store as a customer of theirs (esp with a receipt) I was also unsure who owned the land. No one could be a customer of the pub as they were closed at the time.

Rachel called me this morning explaining that Aldi cannot help in this case as they do not own the land, the pub does. She said she has visited this site due to the parking problems.

How is the motorists supposed to know that it's not Aldi's car park? There is only one entrance off the road with only ALDI & PE signs. A member of staff said it was OK to park as the pub was shut. How is the motorist to know that this may not have been true?

BTW This instance targeting of motorists with £100 'fines' when there is no earthly reason other than greed typifies all that is wrong with parasitical PPCs

There are loads of signs. The OP and others have already said this. The OP has already said that the bay they parked in was coloured blue which signalled that it was the pubs and not Aldis and the reason they parked there was because the Aldi part of the car park was full. The link to streetview you have posted is dated 2012 - probably changed a bit since then?

NPE were kicked out once, if he has not changed his lines they are blue and white. He does not do court at present, think he would lose on signage as to who are parking with.

Why did she bother asking if the motorist didnt already know that they were not in an Aldi space. It sucks that the staff member gave the wrong information, but it wasnt their place to say yey or nay - that space doesnt belong to them and the motorist was aware of that. Im not saying that it isnt all very confusing and that the OP should lie back and take it - quite the opposite, I was just pointing out the signs were there and it does sound like the OP knew very well that they were parking in the "wrong" space. Sounds very much to me like the pub has cottoned on to a nice little money earner by sheer virtue of the fact that they "own" spaces in a well used car park!

Which is why the OP asked a member of ALDI staff if it was OK to park & was told that it was OK.
