As a matter of genuine interest. What do you think his 'valid' reasons are for not offering FFA ? Remembering of course, that the SNP ( like it or not ) represent most of Scotland in Westminster these days.
Mostly because it's not the policy of the ruling party of the UK.
Labour won the North East but won't be setting policy in that region. Why would the SNP be setting UK policy on Scotland?
This is just another example of the fantasy that the SNP has that the UK needs to dance to their tune.0 -

They know the answer to this dilemma.
Change the nature and agenda of the party to one which has a UK wide brief, and compete with the other major parties on a UK wide basis.
Suppose they did compete for all the UK seats and their leftist agenda resonated with voters in the NE & NW. This would create a real headache for the current major parties.
How could a future PM like Cameron argue against the UK heading towards a federalised construct, when he is campaigning for the very same UK to stay in a Eurozone intent on heading towards a federalised superstate!0 -
Oh, he's listening. He's just not going to offer it for very valid reasons.
Which is just what the SNP want anyway as it reinforces the 'us v them' agenda.
What are those very valid reasons?
The Conservatives are note represented well in Scotland, why doesn't he want to grow this?
Why couldn't he say "I've listened the the electorate of Scotland who have united behind the SNP. I want to show that a Conservative government can build bridges and deliver for the people.
Let me kick this off by offering the FFA / FFR to the devolved parliament of Holyrood"
If they truly think that the SNP don;t want this, then it would gain him respect from the electorate by offering and potentially also disengage the electorate from the SNP if they reject the offer.
So I ask again, what are the valid reasons for not offering FFA / FFR?:wall:

Crazy.
I fully believe, that if you are old enough to pay taxes into the system, you should be able to vote in that system.:wall:

There is a very significant difference Generali.
The North East do not as yet have a devolved government acting for that region.
With that in mind, I'm still keen to see what the valid reasons are for not offering FFA.
It reminded me of the "Take Us With You Scotland" hash tag and petition that was going around. It's probably starting to dwindle being out of the news, but with interest it appears to have increased tenfold in the last month:wall:

A total load of rubbish:
anyone that buys products with VAT on them pays tax; but now you will change you argument to fit the nonsense you talk.
you want voting for 16-17 years old
-because it differentiates the Scots from the English and fuels mindless dislike and division
-because you think that will help your cause.0 -

Well they're asking for FFA officially now anyway. Let's see who really wants Scotland to have it.. or not. Then we can put all this FFA is something the SNP don't want nonsense to bed.
Let Hamish's 'unitedagainstseparation' #SNPout graphs commence.... again.SNP leader Angus Robertson last night confirmed the SNP will table amendments to the Scotland Bill for Full Fiscal Autonomy, which would give the Holyrood powers to raise and spend all its own money.
David Cameron had accused the SNP of bluffing for something they did not really want.SNP tables amendment to Scotland Bill calling for full fiscal autonomy
THE SNP has tabled an amendment to the Scotland Bill to secure full fiscal autonomy for Scotland, party sources have confirmed. The Nationalists were goaded in the Commons over their alleged coolness on the policy....It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
This is just another example of the fantasy that the SNP has that the UK needs to dance to their tune.
The SNP only ever need the Scots to dance to their tune. With an ammendment for FFA now being tabled (win/win either way for the SNP), as well as EVEL being 'fast tracked' through, previous unnannounced cuts and budgets looking to be slashed even further in July... Even now, so soon into this parliament, it's looking like things might snowball a bit.
There seems to be very little actually holding the UK together at this point. But at least the EU ref is providing a bit of distraction. Cameron is well stacking the cards for an 'in' vote there. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Stop trying to incite differences were there is not.
I believe 16 and 17 should get to vote in all elections / referendums throughout the whole of the UK.
Why try and make an us and them situation?
I truly wish you would grow up as opposed to constantly trying to start arguments on the internet.
Have you ever agreed with anyone on here?:wall:

Have you any evidence of the bit in bold?
...or is it just more Shakey hyperbole; a projection of hope over reality.
I see rather a lot holding the UK together. All of it outside politics.0
