My Supercard has arrived

Got my card a few weeks ago and have used it extensively in Canada over the last two weeks without any problem. Saved me a fair few bob.

I got mine about a month ago and linked it to my Nat West credit card.

Finally got to Spain this week and firstly tried to use it in a Lidl on the Costa Blanca. It was declined twice and the check out girl said that although the PIN was correct there seemed to be a problem with the Visa ID, whatever that is. I completed the purchase using my Halifax Clarity card.

A few minutes later I tried to use it in Mercadona, which is a large Spanish supermarket chain. It worked perfectly and the transaction is showing on my Android app, but not the two previous failed attempts. Pretty good rate as well and comparable with xe.com

So I need to try it out some more, but the moral of the story is to have some form of back-up. Being in a supermarket with a full trolley of food or in a restaurant having just fed four people and not being able to pay isn't my idea of fun.

I have just returned from USA where I used my Supercard at least 30 times. It is brilliant. The app tells you how much I have saved with each transaction (approx £25) over the two weeks. Had no problem using it anywhere. Loved it and the translations show up almost as soon as you have used it.
