    Hi OP!

There's nothing like that feeling is there?

I went into a shop filled with smaller sizes and found, at random, a brilliant, size 20, pair of Next jeans which looked like they had barely been worn.

    £2.99.

    I wore them to death.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

My brother is a volunteer in Oxfam and it always amazes me at the things that people donate! They sell some stuff online to get the best prices for them sometimes but clothing etc is great. He picked up a new MUFC jersey for £2.99 (great as he is on benefits) and they had a load of designer clothes come in which led to people queuing outside waiting for shop to open!

Only problem is at the moment that they have too many donations....not enough volunteers to sort and sell. Shame at them having to turn things away.

I once bought a coat on the Oxfam website for £15, it retailed at over £100. It was in immaculate condition and I wore it for several years, I've still got it, I just don't wear it because it's too bulky to wear in a car.

My colleague used to wear a beautiful Chanel skirt to work. She got it from a charity shop for a fiver!

who has said to turn donations away?

I am with the majority here. I have also got quite a few bargains from Charity Shops. They have much good quality stuff in there.

I have recently got Top Shop tops and dresses in there, and Dorothy Perkins ones. Some as cheap as three or four pounds. :)
    cooeeeeeeeee :j

Oops sorry, I was just so happy, I didn't even think of looking for another similiar thread.

Its amazing how today has brightened me up! Silly really, but I just love these jeans. Life has been a bit tough.., and I've been feeling like everything I touch, no matter how careful I am, goes wrong. Its a bit over the top but somehow I feel lucky now lolol.

OP, Incompletely agree with you - often the smallest pleasures in life are the best. Take a look at this post from Moaning Myrtle in particular: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=68299153&postcount=3811

The thread will give you plenty of CS inspro for future bargain hunting. I still look for brand new trousers and shoes as I have a particular shape and size, but for anything else the most amazing items can be found in chazzers.

The thread that VfM4meplse has given the link to is a lovely feel-good thread to follow.

Lots of great bargains to read about on there.

Hope you get lucky again soon. ;)

Maybe it's a regional thing, I don't know, but I must say the charity shops down my way over-price their goods something awful.

I took a look in Oxfam in town, and they were selling a cardigan which was really old and bobbly and in not very good condition, for £14.99!!

The worst are the ones selling furniture. £45 for a knackered old bookshelf that sells brand new in Argos for about £25!

If they are genuine Armani I think the OP was VERY lucky.
