Wow. Charity Shop Bargain

I can't quite believe it.., went to my local Oxfam charity shop and picked up a pair of Armani jeans for £4.99! I actually bought them for my son. They were a bit small for him, but fit me so I'm wearing them.

You hear about finding things like this but my best bargains tend to be picking up M&S clothes, not designer label clothes.

Makes me feel quite good (which I need right now).

Probably more fake Armani jeans around than there are authentic ones. But if they're nice jeans that fit you well that's what matters ;)

These don't seem to be fakes, they're very good quality. I'm quite surprised.

I've done some research and it looks like I've been lucky., they've got the correct labels in the correct colours.

But you are right.., they are definitely worth more than a fiver whatever sort of jeans they are.., the workmanship that's gone into them is incredible (compared to my usual sort of jeans lol).

Fakes often are excellent quality. Don't focus on some silly marketing, you've got a decent pair of jeans for £5, that's all that matters.

Is there any need to rain on the parade? OP is happy, and you are not a trading standards inspector!

OP, I am delighted for your bargain, enjoy!

I had taken some items into a shop and was having a browse when I saw a sling to carry a baby. It was beautiful and only £6. I researched it when I got home and it sells for £80 new.

The chances are high they are real. I have been to Charity Shops a number of times this past year, with friends and family members, and have found Tommy Hilfiger shirts for £5, (£50 new) a pair of barely used converse trainers that cost £4 (originally £40,), a Calvin Kline dress for £8 (originally £75,) and also a pair of vans for £6 each (usually £35 to £50) and a pair of American Apparel jeans for £6 (usually £60.)

I genuinely don't think that the people who set the prices always know what gems they have. In addition, I have had both my children giving name brand clothes and shoes to Charity shops that cost £40, £50, £60 originally, so I know it can happen, getting a fab name brand product from a charity shop for a fiver.

    Well done Deanna. :)
No debt left now. Saved £111 in our sealed pot last year. And £272.13 this year! Also we have £2300 in savings. :j

    SPC #468 :D Target £250 for 2015.

Great bargain....however the thread needs merging with the existing long-running thread on the OS board.

Oops sorry, I was just so happy, I didn't even think of looking for another similiar thread.

Its amazing how today has brightened me up! Silly really, but I just love these jeans. Life has been a bit tough.., and I've been feeling like everything I touch, no matter how careful I am, goes wrong. Its a bit over the top but somehow I feel lucky now lolol.

OP, Incompletely agree with you - often the smallest pleasures in life are the best. Take a look at this post from Moaning Myrtle in particular: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=68299153&postcount=3811

The thread will give you plenty of CS inspro for future bargain hunting. I still look for brand new trousers and shoes as I have a particular shape and size, but for anything else the most amazing items can be found in chazzers.
