Blogger competitions - is it worth it

The biggest problem I have with this is that although I enter a lot of competitions, I fully support and read the blogs I follow even though I don't explicitly say so. I've found my favourite bloggers through comping! I'm more of the silent reader who just likes to visit a post and move on, but then of course because I'm not pro active I suppose I'd be labelled as someone who should be disqualified. A lot of bloggers enter a lot of comps too, and are likely to be entering fellow bloggers comps... would they receive the same treatment as someone who seemingly just enters competitions? Just think some bloggers need to understand that you can enter comps on a blog & still love the blog you're entering those comps on simultaneously. In the end they are just losing those readers by assuming they aren't worthy.. nice one. :doh:0

Most bloggers are okay but some take themselves a little bit too seriously. Plenty of comps out there why take traffic to a little madam lol.0

I follow lots of blogs and read lots of their posts via my Bloglovin feed. I have even bought lots of items too after reading their reviews or printed off their recipes and craft ideas. I have met lots of lovely bloggers whom I often chat with via social media. Just a shame there are some bad apples in the cart - so they say!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I agree with this totally, I read several blogs but do not comment on them.
So we are now being labelled as either an active blog user or a comper
So if one blogger has several comps running and another blogger enters all of their comps are they a blogger or a comper
If one blogger has said out loud they slyly remove compers how many others do it without admitting it?
I think most of the blog comps are a waste of time anyway as they are usually naff prizes.“I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” - Billy Joel

Completely agree with you there, mansey! I read but often don't comment. I think there are lots of honest bloggers out there who let the rafflecopter or gleam choose the winner but I think there are a minority who sadly don't and choose their friends instead.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

To be fair on this one, I don't think the woman from the Yellow Brick Road blog really meant anything by this, she just got caught it up in all the furore because it was in relation to her post.
She was just asking how she could not have compers enter because she wanted to give away a wee thing she'd bought herself to her readers 'cause it's the blogs second birthday.
She kinda got caught up in what other people had said in reply to her question, which is probably a bit unfair.
Presumably though, if you only want your readers to enter then you won't put any "Share this tweet" type stuff into the RC options, I don't know if that was / will be the case.0 -
It really doesn't help our (as in "compers") case when people go feet first and spout abuse.
Yes, it was wrong that one said to delete on the sly, but was it right for people to go mouthing at them both?!
Post it on here, let people decide to unfollow / skim past their comps and leave it at that.
In my opinion, I think from now on any blogger that says compers shouldn't enter should have their site put on the "not to post" thread. Makes it easier in the long run. Thanks to all posters :A0 -

A very good idea :T
Also let us know if you have won a bloggers comp so we know which ones are drawn fairly“I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” - Billy Joel

That's true. I think unfollow the majority and scrub round their competitions is the way forward for me - I don't know why I've bothered for so long.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
