What small change do you want from the new government?

Greater or fully transferrable married couples tax free allowance
So much government spending goes into child care, but those of us who are more traditional aren't helped enough.
This change would give many more mothers the option to do what they want, spend their children's pre-school years with them, and give children their own mum when they need them most.

Whenever we go to a GP or hospital abroad we have to pay on the spot. The same should happen here. As Nigel Farrage said, "We run a National Health Service, not an International Health Service."0
-
Benefits should be paid within one week of a claim being made. If claimants are found to have been ineligible, benefits should not be stopped until the appeal process has been completed. Only then should they be stopped and overpayments recovered. Employ more staff to deal with this, unemployment falls.0

Stop Benefit Cheats
Introduce teams of low-salary but commission-based investigators to weedle out anyone who abuses the system. Their commission could be based on the amount saved, and would create (even) more employment.0 -
Flat rate income tax for all
Have minimum earnings tax free eg up to £12,000 then a flat 10p income tax rate for absolutely everyone after that. End of.0 -
When advertising a service such as broadband, mobiles etc. The headline rates should be the standard rates that everyone has to pay after any short term introductory offers have ended.
Introductory rates should only be shown in smaller font sizes below the standard rates.
It would make it easier to compare different service providers and companies would then have to compete on standard rates rather than overhyping short term freebies.0 -
Stop Fly Tipping
Law to make local councils provide free tipping at all their sites, also free collection of large items, would cure 90% of fly tipping. No-one ever fines fly tippers anyway and it would save the millions it costs to clear up after them.0 -
Introduce ruling so that the amount received in benefits, is 20% less than what can be earned on the living wage of £7.35 - £9.15 an hour, but can be topped up by undertaking training and community work.
Cap benefit rent payments for privately rented properties, limiting the amount of rent that private landlords make.
Invest the savings made into more council housing, and renovating properties for council housing.
Provide more of an incentive to work, than stay on benefits, both financially and emotionally.0 -
Foreign Drivers should pay to use British Roads
Introduce a tax disc system for all foreign vehicles entering the UK (pre-payable on-line or on arrival at the port of entry) with variable rates depending upon the time the vehicle will be used in the UK. Ring fence the money earned to improve Britain's road and rail network.0 -
Develop the technology to colonise the Moon and Mars etc. using self-replicating robots. When they are strong enough, take over planet Earth to save it. Execute all anti-environmental criminals, including over breeding.
This is obviously a Green Party manifesto.0
