ah but the folks on the hill wont recognize gay marriage anyway .So if a couple go to England ,Ireland or anywhere else, Stormont will still be saying no can do ,and declare it a civil partnership .

The Northern Ireland Executive has stated that it does not intend to introduce legislation allowing for same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland, despite repeated votes on the issue. Same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions are treated as civil partnerships.

That might not stand, as a matter of law.... seems a bit daft to say someone is married in one part of the country but not married in another part. Difficult to see how they can avoid recognition, even if they don't permit it to happen here.

I just saw Yes or No - The Big Vote (and didn't notice NI) and naively thought it was about the EU referendum.

Is Northern Ireland still in the dark ages?!
