If you wanted a take away meal you would not have seated yourselves at a table in the first place! I say complain!!!

the poor waitress was probably rushed of her feet and as she said she didn't notice the time when she sat you down, she then did her best to fix the problem by offering you a free pizza. So please give her a break and when you write make sure the MD is aware of her efforts to fix the problem.

However I do agree you have reason to complain, it is the manager that failed you, they should always put customer needs before anything else and he should have come to see you, state this in your letter to the MD.

good luck and hope you next visit goes better, enjoy :)

    Thunderplex,

I work for pizza hut. So happy to help if I can.

Customers can come in for buffet right up til it finishes at 3 or 4 (depending on which restaurant you go to). I usually tell customers that are coming in towards then end that its finishing soon, so there wont be an endless supply but there will be at least another set out.

We usually check who is still eating buffet and put the appropriate amount of pizzas out.

Regarding the fact that other people rushed up to the buffet and cleared it out. This suggests that a fair few other people were eating so they should have replenished it, but you really need to go up when they put pizzas out. There is always a rush, sometimes you just need to go up too. Usually when there is no one up there it means there is no pizza.

Its a bit rubbish that she said she didnt notice you were having buffet.

Managers wear the exact same uniform as the staff (black shirt) except they dont usually wear a apron and bumbag.

However, they did offer to compensate you with another pizza, which you could have had all to yourself. I think this is fair recompense. If you didnt want a margerita then you could have asked for one of the usual toppings that are out on the buffet (ham&mush, ham&pine, pepperoni, etc.) Im sure she would have obliged.

You said you waited and waited, even though you were in a rush. You should have spoken to your waitress earlier, if you were in a rush. Or explained that you were going somewhere but could you have come back and got the pizza later. Im sure they would have obliged, I have done this for a customer before.

Finally, if you are still not happy. Write, or even just call the store and ask to speak to the manager, instead of writing to straight to head office. Im sure they will resolve it for you at store level. They can send you vouchers or give you a free meal next visit.

The waitress was very pleasent (apart from the shrug) and nice to my daughter, and I will be mentioning that. The restraunt was only 25% full if that (quite a big place), and there were a few waiters there, so I wouldn't say she was rushed off her feet.

Thanks for the advice re the letter

Some years back we were in our local Pizza Hut when a large Chinese family came in, about 15 to 18 in number.
Four young men, from the party, came up to the salad bar with their bowls to get the "all you can eat salad". They started by lining the bowls (vertically) with whole spring onions, this was then lined with lettuce leaves to make a "bowl" several times the size of the original, as they filled the "bowl" they added more onions and lettuce making it even bigger. By the time they had finished everyone in the restaurant was watching them - and gave them a round of applause as they went back to their table !

Just go to their website, they have a online form you can fill in. I did it at the beginning of the week to complain about a poor meal we had last week whilst on holiday. I got an email reply within 48hrs and a letter arrived in the post today with vouchers to cover the cost of the original meal.

Yes I would deffo fill in the form on the website. We did that when we had a pizza with far too little cheese and it turned out they ran out of cheese that day and I guess they were eeking out what they had left. Quality!! Anyway, they sent us vouchers to reimburse the cost of the meal which was good of them.

  • We got there at 2:50
We decided to go for the buffet. By the time we had ordered drinks and sat down it was 2:50, so we got a slice each, a little salad, 1 breadstick and ate.

So within seconds, you decided to go for a buffet! And the buffet closed at 3.00?
We went back for more pizza, but there was not on the hotplate. At 3:10 .

Next time go at 1:00! Then you may get some food!

Otherwise go to a decent super market; get some decent ham (Duchy variety), some pizza bases if you have not got a bread maker, a fresh pineapple, some mushrooms, and mild cheese. If you have a bread maker, put it on a dough setting. Place the ingredients in and wait about 90 minutes (good food is not ready in 10 seconds). Roll out pizza bases and spread a thick tomato puree spread, with a little added water, basil, finely chopped tomatoes onto the base. Then liberally add the cheese and lay the chopped mushrooms, ham and pineapple on top.

Put in pre heated oven at 210C. If you want to freeze some, take out after ten minutes, otherwise leave about 22 minv

knowing full well that it was soon to close!!!

That's not what the op says. The op said the waitress was originally unaware of the time. Why make things up just so it sounds a good complaint?
