    What were you reclaiming: Loan
    · Who was the provider: Abbey
    · How much did you get back: £1,700
    · Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1ST Letter/

Sent 1st letter around 8th Feb, received an acknowledgement last week, got a letter yesterday say they had done their investigation and would be refunding us close to £1.700.

Now a dilema shall we use the money wisely or go to Spain, never taken our 7 year old on holiday so Spain looks likely.

Thanks everyone on this site :D

More success with abbey, after this I sent in 2 letters regarding 2 previous loans. I sent letters about 2/3 weeks ago and received a reply today.

1st loan will receive a repayment of £368
2nd loan will receive a repayment of £886 (was only expecting a couple of hundred)

Just have to send back the acceptance letters.

Thanks to this great site thats nearly £3000 back :j

2 credit cards to try and claim back on now

  • Through your website I have been able to reclaim missold PPI from a loan I had with A & L in 2001 (which finished in 2006). They did not inform me that I could shop elsewhere for insurance cover, therefore, I telephoned to inform them of this and they said they would look into this matter for me, I then received a letter one week later offering me a sum of £2,808. I would like to thank you for for all the information relating to PPI misselling, and through this I was able to get a refund.

  • Ye haa got confirmation from First Plus that they are refunding me the PPI on my loan + interest and re setting the loan. Must thank all on this site as I had read through a few PPI forums and decided to write to them to get it back.

I had another loan before this one with FirstPlus and after about 3 years I needed to get another loan (NEVER AGAIN) and took out a TOPUP loan with FP (this is the the loan I just got back the PPI on). I just wondered if I could claim back the PPI on the loan before the TOPUP loan!
    Many thanks again.

They must be really shook up by all this complaint coverage.
Thats an amazing result considering you didnt have to write to them and the time ago the loan was taken.
    Congratulations. :eek::D

    Hi there
First of all well done and Congratulations!

And yes you can, and if this top up one was with the lender then you reclaim through them on this one, as the top up would have been arranged by the lender themselves and not the broker like the first one.
Hope this helps and good luck.;)
