well done to you, congrats. there is a chance you could do this, i won with yorkshire bank from 14 years ago, and some one else on here won a credit card from 22 years ago and a loan from 14 years ago. so give it a go you have nothing to lose!
wow! 14 years, and 22! Definitely going for it then - think mine are from late about 1999/2000. Both are Natwest, so hopefully they'll be just as efficient as they were this time around. Will post when I have news!
thanks for your help0 -
Ok but the loan repayments inc ppi (single premium added to loan) are £525.73 i calculate the ppi payment to be £138.04 making the payments paid over 60 months £8282.40 .
so does this not mean it should be ppi of £9235.75 off the current loan amount
plus £8282.40 refund for payments made (plus interest) so a total of £17518.15 (plus interest)
This is how you work out how much of the payment went towards the PPI.
You take the PPI amount and divide it by the PPI and loan (without interest) which is 26.97%. You then take 26.97% of the repayment and that comes to 138.90 and then times that by the 84 months totalling £11667.60. This is then what your total PPI (with interest) would have cost you if the loan went to term. They are refunding you £11991.95 which is about correct for the full amount of a refund. I do however note that 8% statutory interest is not included in this so maybe you could ask that this be done as it would be a bit extra.
As regards your extra £6000 that you would ask for then I cannot see them paying this as they are actually refunding you the whole of the PPI and interest.
Well done by the way...:beer:0 -

What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: Black Horse
How much did you get back: £2774.35
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent one email offer letter received within 24 hours.
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Searched FSA for Black horse PPI Director sent email directly to Paul Phillips, I had intended to post a copy recorded delivery today. Couldn’t believe it when I received a letter this morning saying they accept no responsibility but as a goodwill gesture they offered to refund £2774.35. I didn’t actually know how much I was due to be refunded I thought it might be £1000.00 was delighted to be offered £1955.36 plus 8 % interest £818.99 total amount £2774.35.
Thanks to Martin and everyone on MSE for the letter templates and excellent advice. By providing this information you make it possible for people like myself to have the knowledge and confidence to contact these companies to request a refund.
I know for a fact that if it wasn’t for MSE, I would not have been successfully reimbursed for the following:Bank charges £3150
Bank charges £266
PPI. Refund £2774
Grand Total £6190
I am waiting for a lung transplant and currently receiving benefits for the first time in my life, this extra money has made such a huge impact to my quality of life.“Thank you to everyone at Money Saving Expert from the bottom of my heart” :A :T :T :T
