Martin you are the best! I just had another success with Abbey - I thought the most to expect would be a few hundred for a PPI they imposed on my loan I took out in 2000 over the phone. I received a letter to say £1200 in total including 8% interest! I am over the moon but still a bit sad that lenders were pulling the wool over our eyes for so long - that is clearly wrong and I am glad measures are in place to prevent this from happening again.

Fantastic news today! RBS have made me a 'goodwill offer' of 2,775.60 pounds (damn pound signs not where its supposed to be on keyboard!!) They have been unable to confirm precisely what information I was given when I purchased the policy so 'as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability' they've made this offer!! Acceptance in envelope ready to be posted!!!!
    :j :j :j :j :j

Still waiting for the ombudsman's decision on the Loans.co.uk one though! (14 months on!!!)

How long have they told you it will take to get your money out to you?

Their letter says that on receipt of my acceptance they will arrange for the money to be applied to my current account - which is drastically overdrawn so this will more than cover my overdraft!! They send out a 2nd class envelope to return the acceptance form so I'd hope the money will be in my account by next week if, indeed, it is applied to my account on receipt of the form!! I returned one for a smaller amount last week, which they should have received by Wednesday/Thursday so I'll let you know when that's in my account.

I'm just over the moon that I've got such a good amount. I didn't really expect it to be so easy!!! Thank you Martin!!!!! He should surely be on the next New Year's Honours list!!! Love him!

    Thank you. I'm so excited!!! :j :j
I won't really benefit from the money because I have a huge overdraft but at least it will clear it and I'll actually be able to get on top of my finances!!! So thats good news and I'll be less stressed out worrying about clearing my overdraft!

I'm just happy that I've 'won' something! It doesn't usually happen to me. Its almost like having a win on the lottery!! Now there's a thought - maybe my lucks changing!!!!!

    • What were you reclaiming: Loan
    • Who was the provider: Tesco Personal Finance
    • How much did you get back: a total of £1666.52
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent letter to FOS in July 08
Sent the template letter to Tesco in March 08, they responded in July with the usual "we've done nothing wrong" so wrote to the FOS who confirmed in December 08 that Tesco had agreed to settle. There were two policies in dispute - received the first cheque 2 weeks ago for £775.73 and then the second cheque for £890.79 arrived on Saturday. Definately worth the cost of a couple of stamps!

Thank you to Martin and this wonderful site!!!

dont give up FOS upheld my claim today on 2 black horse ppi full refund plus 8% and £200 comp on each one

Hi Terry, do you know how much you are getting back from BH. I also put in a claim via FOS 12 months ago & have just had a letter from them stating BH are willing to settle my claim 'as a gesture of goodwill', plus £200.00 compo for distress caused. I claimed about £2,700.00 but don't know how much i'll actually get. Letter also states it may take them upto 2 weeks to payout. I'll updat on here once i actually get a payout. Cheers, Gill
