  • Yes, letter received today from Egg credit card - a big fat no. Am going to appeal as was only part-time when card applied for online. They quote normal excuses, but have not sent any proof.

Feeling gutted really, as still feel was mis-sold so will be taking further. Have written full details on Discussion page, so any ideas gratefully received.

    A) to thankyou all for your posts I have read and re-read them and applied for my own PPI refund with Barclaycard and the card was first tacken out back in 2000 with the PPI addes then.
    B) Had a letter on Friday to inform me that they had upheld me complaint and have a refund of £8913.00 WOW.

Sent application in on the 3rd May 2010.

So thankyou to all the posters and all the advice I have picked up from you.

    Good Luck to you all

    xx
Oh that's brilliant, I sent my PPI complaint to Barclays end of May so hoping they will get to me soon. I have been on their case to make sure they don't forget about me !

    Sorry to hear that BK

I think TBH we will see a lot of rejections in the next few days - as others have said, by rejecting out of hand the banks cover themselves as whether they reject or uphold, they still meet the 31st August deadline, so even if you now go back and ask them to look at it again (as you definitely should) and they then say "sorry, we were wrong, upheld!" they have met the FSA guidelines

Black Horse in particular appear to be pulling this stunt with a lot of cases that should be upheld without questions (people on benefits/disabled/pensioners/etc)

Will look for your thread now

    Well,

no avalanche of upheld/rejected posts today then

31st tomorrow, so I feel sorry for poor old postie come Wednesday/Thursday morning having to carry this deluge of responses the banks are "obviously" going to send out to meet the 31st August target

They're bound to really - after the massive fine the FSA gave them all for placing complaints on hold during the Judicial Review against the FSA's express warning

    Oh......

    Wait a minute.......

    wow fantastic news :) congrats!

can i ask what sort of timescales there were for your reclaim? my fscs claim forms were sent back last week and when i called today to make sure they had received them ok, i was told they couldnt access my account because it seemed someone else was already in it - either to put on all my details from the forms, or to process stuff. i think its maybe a little optimistic to think it would be looked at already lol.

    hi all

so heres the thing, trying to be sensible with monies we have successfully reclaimed and are wanting to pay a loan off with zopa(dont know if anyones heard of them?), partner has just rung to see how much we would need to pay to settle in full, here are the figures

loan for £15120 (the £120 was their fee)
    16.4% apr over 60 months
    started 20/03/2009
    total monthly payment £359.45
total repayable £21,684.39, so the interest in total is £6564.39
30 months paid so far, so halfway through

as i was saying, other half has just rung them to get a settlement figure and they have told him its £9790.36, now is this right? i was thinking it would be around £7500ish, because were halfway through i just thought the interest would be halved! but im terrible with maths!
just trying to do the right thing with our money now and finally be debt free, would be extremely grateful if anyone could help, youve all been so fantastic, thankyou in advance x
