i emailed the CEO and got this reply back regarding my claim

Thank you for your recent communication addressed to Mr Horta-Os!rio, our Chief Executive Officer. I’ve been asked to reply on his behalf. It is very important to us to ensure that our customers receive competent yet helpful and friendly advice, during any business dealings they may have with us and I am sorry to hear that you have had cause to voice your concerns with the Business.

Having checked our records I can confirm that we received your complaint on 13 May 2011. Under guidelines from the Financial Ombudsman Service we are allowed up to 16 weeks to investigate your complaint before you have the right to refer your complaint to them. Of course we aim to answer your allegations well within this timescale.

I appreciate that it is frustrating for you not to be given a timescale as to when your complaint will be looked into. However complaints will be handled in date order and we are working with the regulators to ensure we meet their expectations in terms of how we’re handling the complaints and the timescales we’re working to.

I want to ensure any potential redress paid to you is right and this could take a little time. I can assure you that this further delay will not count towards the time limits in which you can refer your complaint to Court or FOS, should you disagree with the final outcome of our assessment.

Please be assured that we will contact you as soon as possible with our final response letter.

ive been trying since may no1 can find me so after several calls i got through to guy in coventry (july) who escalated to the highest level and told me if i didnt get a call back as promised with 48 hrs by them then take them to the cleaners (his words).

so after not getting the call back i got through one of their managers vera who tried to help but said nothing she can do i just have to wait. so thats when i sent the ceo a email telling him he is either over / underpaying them.

when i spoke to one gentleman he was so adamant i didnt have barclay card he was reading off people details their name and address - all the ones with the same surname as mine in my area, so i also pointed this out to the ceo - thats when cassndra got involved.

i am still waiting for my sar nothing from them yet - really ridiculous.

it was barclays customer service who gave me all my card details as it still shows on their system. this is going back to about 2000 - 2005/6

First of all well done on your win!

How annoying for you that you have not received the payment yet, I would contact them (CEO) and ask them about this and also request further payment for the inconvenience and distress they have caused in still waiting a few months down the line, tell them you have a good mind to contact the FSA and hear there is a documentary on how banks have been treating us and you do not want to be one of those getting involved. (its a suggestion and hope it works, you do not have to mention the documentary side of it if you don't want to, but the FSA I would), good luck.;)

In that case it depends how uk loans calculate the redress on the Loan

To keep the payments the same as they are you would effectively have to be given the £8100 on top of the the loan as well. If we take August as a fixed point in time then I have calculated the refunds you are due to payments and interest on the single premium of £8100. In reality then the £8100 should be handed over as well. This would be like having a top up loan added to the original loan of £30000.

So ppi payments plus interest plus 8% to August is £9225 plus the £8100 is £17325.

If your lucky they could add on 8% as well (£4k plus) but this is a bit different to what I have dealt with

You will of course have to continue paying the ppi premiums (now interest) for the remainder of the term.

    N:beer:

Woooooaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Are you now saying I should get back £17k???? Do they HAVE to pay me that much back?? I honestly don't understand WHY they would pay us back the premium, plus interest for us to do with as we wish......PLUS another premium amount to reduce the loan back to the £30k?? Or is it a case of if they were feeling ultra generous they would! Cause err....somehow I don't think loans.co.uk would be THAT generous!! lol Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions :o I just need to know how much I am ENTITLED to fight for........and don't get why on earth they would pay you back twice!
Keep Smiling :D - It makes people wonder what you're up to!!!
