:j:jWell done on your win

Send the acceptance back and when you get your figures,if you post them up,someone will look at these for you.

If they are wrong, you can query this with the bank.
  • hello
so i wrote starting my ppi complaint to rbs cred cards in may- got responses etc dealing with it etc
then called them one last week and once this week- they tell me the claim is being treated as high priority but told me the fos has instructed they have untill the 16th sep to deal with this- but they have had way over the 8 weeks that the fos website states they should have and wondered if anyone has any advice to move it alone?
i have already emailed the CEO of rbs and received a response telling me it will be dealt with as high priority (this was prior to my last 2 phone calls ) and have also sent a subject access request just to annoy and ruffle feathers- but want this to move along so anyone have any advice of how to posistion my next phone call which i plan to make on friday 26th aug?:(

    Hi all,

Just a quick question. I have today been told that my ppi complaint in relation to mortgage ppi has been upheld. I have been told by the bank that they will send me a letter which wont include the calculations which I have to sign before the calculations are made which will they say include the 8% interest. I just wondered if this is usual and why they can't calculate the refund first ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

First of all Well done on your success!

That is about right in regards of the calculations, they should send them on to you once they received your signed acceptance, if in doubt when you receive the calculations I believe you do have the right to question them on this, good luck.
Oh yes and feel free to post them up on here when you do receive these, as amersall says x

Looking on the Lloyds TSB website, the first step is to call them on their number. I was wondering if anyone had tried this method instead of sending a letter from the off?

Im sure they wouldnt but I worry that the I may not get my full entitlement should I not pursue with a letter/ombudsman etc

Yes, I called the LloydsTSB PPI helpline and they took details of the complaint down over the phone. You need to have the policy number(s) to hand and the reasons why you feel the policy was mis-sold.
I got an acknowledgement though the post a few days later. I followed up the telephone call with a letter though.
  • Hi all

I wondered if anyone could offer some advice - I had 3 claims - 1) egg paid out without even asking a question! 2) halifax paid after a little bit of messing about ( but not much ) and i'm now left with MBNA ( virgin credit card).

Its gone all the way to the questionnaire and now they are apparantly saying that as I ticked the box online ( so they say) then they have rejected the claim. They said a letter came to me advising thsi last mont - which I havent had - and the ywill now send me a copy...

I am waiting for this letter to confirm this and then it will go to the ombudsman - I have kept the copy questionaaire, plus the claim is already lodged with the ombudsman from months ago.

I wondered if anyone had been through this and still ultimately had success - and what chance is there via teh opmbudsman - do they fair well in getting these decisions overturned? Its about £2k and im not working so would be very handy!!

I am grateful for any comments

    Thanks everyone

    Hello people.

Have recently realised we took out ppi on our old mortgage with Northern Rock. It was through a brokers and was advised in my other thread that I should contact the brokers. They said because they sold me it in 2004 I can not claim because it is outside of some 'ruling'. THe woman on the phone made me feel pretty stupid.

What can I do? Anything? It was £3060 single payment on a mortgage of 102k.

Also earlier in the day I had a call from another guy at their solicitors who said he would send me some 'paperwork'. Not sure what to expect now but this woman basically told me I had no chance and was like 'what about it?'.

My mortgage company recently paid back my PPI premiums for a mortgage I took out in 2000, so I don't think its too late. They denied mis-selling though but returned my premiums as a goodwill gesture. They accepted that at the time I took out the cover I wouldn't have benefited from the cover and was unsuitable for me. It seems that your policy as a single premium policy for which there is 90% upheld rate, so would definitely try to claim this back if you had no need for it.
