Hi,
do you have the figure for the amount you paid back in June 2003?
It is likely they gave you a rebate on the PPI when you settled early
By my calculations, the £1269 would have had £736 in interest added if you had seen the loan through its full 60 month term
So, if we take £1269 + £736 = £2005
Even allowing for any rebate given, £302 sounds low (as you would be entitled to 8% compensatory interest on top as well)
Can you track down the amount you paid to settle the loan?
Thanks for that, I can't really remember off hand so will check my paperwork and come back to you.0 -
Hi,
is he happy with it paying part of the balance?
Unless he is in arrears, they are not entitled to use the refund to pay off the balance, they must send the full amount (minus any arrears) to him via cheque
Also, whilst 14k is a fantastic amount (well done you for helping your dad out!) - do you know what balance he has held for the time he's had the card?
Congratulations :j:jxx0 -
Hi - no post today but did my usual routine of logging onto online banking and I have 3 x PPI Refunds from Barclays totalling £2361 :j. I have no idea what they have paid out, will have to wait for the breakdown as I requested them to look into all (9) of my consolidated loans from 2000 - 2007. Will keep you posted. Fi. x
Congratulations on getting a refund. When did your PPI complaints go in?
I have heard nothing and wondered whether it was worth phoning them. Getting really fed up waiting and still nothing in the post.0 -

Hi - I originally put my complaint in last October then went on hold because of JR. So I was "pre April" where they have said they will pay before 31 August. Think there is a different timeline to those who have put in complaints after April? Did get a letter about 2 weeks ago stating that they were working to schedule and not to phone them for an update as they wouldn't say anything! Did phone them this morning to try and get my breakdown but they couldn't help me, will have to wait for the breakdown letter. Good luck with yours
Mine were sent in January. I have had the letters saying they will pay on their "no quibble" basis. I am sure they are trying to deal with them in date order. I have not received any mailing from them since the original letter in June and not one saying they were working to schedule.
If your was October they still have a way to go to get to mine. I will wait patiently.0 -
I'm so pleased Barclays are paying out, well done to you! They wrote to me last week to say that they were on schedule to meet the deadlines. I have to wait until 3rd October, I hope the wait will be worth it!
. Good luck with yours I'm sure it will be worth it  x

Hi All,
Update:
Just spoke to Halifax who are upholding my CC PPI complaint :T:T:T:T:T, which I cleared but had a one time balance of £17750 over a 4year period. They say an upheld/acceptance letter is in the post but it has no figures on it. I spoke to the Halifax about this they say they will still stick by the refund of all premiums and 8% interest.
My first question: Has anyone else experienced the 'no figure' acceptance letter?
My second question: Can anybody work out a possible figure?Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j
£33,000 refunded!!! :j:j:j:j:j0 -
Sent email to MBNA after Final rejection responce and they emailed back the nicest get F**ked letter, so sod it i'll go to our friend the FOS.
Santander upheld my claim and are BACS'ing a payment of £2,249 this claim only took a month to sort. well upto now, still haven't recieved my money.
RBS taking there time!
Wifes has one now with RBS still ongoing.
but the Dorothy Perkins one has been rejected, apparently she ticked for it!!! I wonder if the FOS would be as kind to look into that one as well?
Owards and upwards!0 -
