  • Thanks again Niggly. I feel more confident about things now.
  • Thanks Rosie yes i do believe we have a claim, i just wondered whether they would take the rebate of the £5k.
Do they have have to come back with a decision after 16 weeks or could they fob us off again wanting more time, sorry am really a novice at all this.

They have to come back to you within the 16 weeks otherwise they would receive huge fines, Firstplus are under the Barclays umbrella.

    Hi All.

Just a quick one.The lovely people at LLoyds have just turned down 3 loan PPI claims in one nice letter.I have been self employed for 20 years nearly and never had a chance on claiming if needed

Is it worth going back to LLoyds or straight to the FOS.

What You all think,or maybe email the boss ? anyone got his email

    Mark

Hi mark what reason have they given you for rejection thought all self employed could reclaim back reading lloyds t&c your business has to cease trading and you have to go bankrupt to make a claim on the employment part, I currently have claims in with ltsb as been self employed for 22 years and have been advised I shouldn't have a problem getting ppi back
  • Well - they have to respond within the time of a total of 16 weeks which includes the extension or they will have broken their own agreement with the FOS and this would make your case stronger. However, they could still reject your claim at the end of the time period-in which case you have to complain and restate your claim direct to the FOS explaining the process you went through. How did you complain in the first place? The best way is to download the Financial Ombudsman Form on PPI from this most excellent Money Savings Expert website. Put PPI in the search engine and find the PPI pages where the form can be obtained, downloaded and printed off. Good luck with the decision.

    Hi all,
Have had a letter from Mint and FOS saying my claim has been upheld and I Mint will be coughing up in accordance with FOS guidelines.

Going through my statements back to 1998 it appears PPI premiums attrated interset only for the first few years.

I have been wrestling with this calculation all evening :

    PPI premiums are £7.5K
Interest rate varied from 1.313 % in the early days to 2.075% more recentley.

Does anyone have any idea how to tackle this one?

I was thinking PPI premium + compound contract rate interest whilst it was charged and then PPI premiums + 8% simple interest for the remaining period

Has anyone had a successful PPI claim with this lot - if so what did they pay back?

Well done to all the winners today.

To the losers - dont give up! You have nothing to lose - bang it off to FOS.

Also they wrote back to say they will have a decision by 3rd Aug, he never heard anything from them so phoned them yesterday, they are now saying it will be Sept/Oct time now before we have a decision as they have been granted an extension, does this seem right?

    Sorry abit long winded :)

    Date first loan started
    Date first loan paid off
The monthly ppi premium or the total monthly payment

    Date of second loan start
Amount of ppi per month or total payment
    term of loan

If a rebate of 1200 was given then he is owed £3800 plus interest at 8%

Fill in the answers and I will do you a quote.

    Hi there

First of all fingers crossed on your reclaim.;)

You should receive back all you have paid in ppi, plus interest, and 8% int of what a court would award, they must put you back in the position as if no ppi. (Any rebate given would have been reduced from the loan amount) so you don't actually see this on settlement but it reduces the loan balance.
They should though send you a detailed written breakdown on request.

As FP are part of Barclays, then I assume they would also be entitled to the extra time.
But if your not happy with this, you could maybe contact/email their CEO.

Good luck and hope you hear soon.;)
