Had a nice surprise this morning, I submitted a claim to Egg last week for a credit card I'd forgotten about as I only had it for a few months in 2003. Got a letter back today with a cheque enclosed for £838. Not too bad at all, but surprised how quickly they dealt with it.Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0

I had a strange experience with Egg a couple of weeks ago, I was checking all my finances and after getting a credit report I remembered about an Egg Credit Card I had when I was at Uni. I called up to ensure that is was properly closed down as I am wanting to get my finances in order and I was told I had a CREDIT balance of £894.32:D:D:D:D:D.
There is no way I was crediting my Egg card as I was a SKINT student and so I was thinking have they may a PPI re-payment without me needing to apply for it?
After reading this site I have applied for the following PPI repayments:
Cahoot (Santander) 9k loan over 5 years - finished this year.
Virgin Money (MBNA) was paying about £60 per month in PPI - cancelled PPI in April.
Mint (RBS) was paying about £25 per month and cancelled the PPI yesterday.
Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:DEgg PPI Refund - £897.52
MBNA (Virgin) PPI: £6071.15
MINT PPI: £3220.71
Barclaycard PPI: Awaiting Info
Running Total Reclaimed : £10,289.38 :T0 -
On Friday 22nd July I stumbled upon a loan agreement for a loan I took out with A&L in 1997-1999. I followed the advice on moneysavingexpert, posted off my claim (I was in part-time employment at the time so would not have been able to claim from the policy)
5 days later I received a call saying my claim had been accepted.
On Thursday 28th July a letter arrived saying I would get £697 compensation. Excellent, thanks moneysavingexpert! :j
I have just started another claim with A&L and one with LloydsTSB, I will let you know how they turn out.0 -
Hiya I am still waiting for our Lloyds batch of ppi complaints. We submitted them end of April and have had the standard blurb with regards to end of August. We are currently week 15. As soon as it comes through, I will post the outcome. Like you my OH has been with Lloyds for near the same amount of time as you. Hope you get success with your Lloyds claim
Hi.
Wishing You all the luck I have 4 with LLoyds,so either a big pay day :j or a big let down and trip to FOS
I hope the fact Egg upheld complaint will force my other claims through.
Here's hoping.
