    Hi Jonny

If you still have the account number that is fine, you can still make a reclaim, not all of us have had much paperwork but know we were sold and mis sold ppi and have still been successful - when it comes to you making a reclaim they will soon find the info they need to investigate, so do still go for the reclaiming, it does not matter if you no longer bank with them either.;)

    Hi and thanks Di,
I will continue with my reclaim, but what about my existing debt. Should that be wrote off as the bank has no record of the agreement?
    Jonny

    Hi Jonny

I am not too sure on those grounds, but you could ask this question on the debtfreewannabe thread, because if the account is no longer active they are not obliged to keep copies of the agreements, although they will keep data from the account going back at least the last 6 years.
Do ask about this part of it on the debtfreewannabe thread below who will know more, good luck and also good luck on yourr reclaiming.

Just spoke to someone regarding the First Plus claims!! Have been told that the offer letters have started to go out this week and there will be an acceptance letter with them to return and then they have 6-8 weeks to pay this out!! I said I thought that payment had to be made by 31st August and he replied that just the offer letters had to be out by this time!!!

Thanks for that Dizzy, I was under the same impression as you, that we would have our goodwill payment by the 31st Aug. So much for them doing the right thing and settling, it will be Christmas at this rate before we see any money in our accounts.:(

    GO FOR IT :rotfl:

    Hi

I've rang them and they were very friendly, took all my details. I advised the reasons for mis-selling as follows:

    1. We were not told at the time of taking out the loan that the PPI was optional. 2. We had adequate cover to pay the loan should we be out of work due to illness, redundancy etc via our employers.

They will send me a letter of acknowledgement in the next 5 working days. They advised it can take up to 16 weeks for completion. I will keep you posted and ask everyone to keep their fingers crossed.

    Hi again,

In the very early stages of reclaiming ppi but just wondered if anyone can advise me of what I would be entitled to if successful? My loan details are as follows:

    Cash loan of £7,676.00
Total charge for credit for cash loan £2000.20
Total amount to pay for cash loan £9,676.20
Insurance loan (cash price of insurance) £1,478.42
Total charge for credit for insurance loan £385.18
Total amount to pay for insurance loan £1,863.60
    Total amount paid £11,539.80
APR 9.9%, Monthly interest rate £0.793%. We paid the loan off (around £9,650) in June 2004 (was originally a 5 year loan but we paid it off earlym - were originally paying around £193 per month.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Congrats all on your success.

    Quick update on my cases.

Citi - has now gone to the FOS as i am tired of emailing Bert and Stephen (thats how i roll 1st name bases with the CEO) and they keep passing from one to the other. The FOS told me regardless of who they keep passing matter to its the company that sold the ppi is the company they will be pursuing. and in my case it was always citi.

Shop Direct - should have had a reply 3rd August - they are still gathering info which is now with a Manager?? - i wander what they are still gathering...

Halifax Card- still getting info together.

Barclays and Barclay card all say Oct - Nov 2011.

    Successes
    Debenhams PPI - settled
    Cap 1 PPI- settled
    Halifax bank charges - settled
    bhs bank charges - settled

and lastly received an offer from Cap 1 for bank charges £17.56.

Hi, thanks for quick reply, the loan started in October 2001 and was a 5 year loan. Does this affect anything? Di

Yes I agree - I was totally under the impression that they had to pay out by 31st August!!! If Egg (who are apparently also part of Barclay's now) and others can pay out within a week or so why cant these First Plus people too!!! Its really not right this and they should be made to pay out by 31st August as originally stated.
