Got my letter today from Ombudsman regarding complaint with natwest and they say NO. In his opinion there is no evidence that we would have repaid the loan early as we took it out for our wedding and the other reason is that there is not enough evidence to suggest we had to take out PPI to get the loan.

This is not true as Natwest did tell us we had to take it out or we would not get the loan.
Also in his letter it says we took the loan out face to face in branch. This we did not do as we live in NI and bank with natwest (no branches here) so impossible for us to have been in the branch.

Is there anything I can do now? Refuse to let it drop as I am 100% sure we were told we had to take ot PPI to get the loan.
    Thanks, any help is welcome.
Hi there, get back in touch with ombudson and explain that you do not agree with his decision (especially the branch bit) and you would like them to take another look at this

Thanks, will be doing this, do you think it is likely they will change their minds?
Is there a time limit the have to keep recording of calls for? although loan was taken out 6 years ago its prob too late.
Natwest had initally offered us 500 pounds settlement, we didnt take it and went to FOS. Can I now claim the 500 or was that not a small part of them admiting they were wrong and offered us something?

    Hi freddie

Sorry to hear this, but did they actually mention that you could have this case reviewed at all?

Yes, can get it reviewed. Is that likely to make a difference?

Yes it can make a difference.

May I ask if you have ever requested a Subject Access Request from your bank?

If not then the documentation they enclose with a SAR may help your case and of course if you anything else to add as well with further information.

More on SAR with template here below link, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

You can then of course let the FOS know you would like it to be reviewed and you will be sending them further information once you receive anything that you will receive within your SAR.

Did you also mention to the FOS that you were also made an offer of goodwill, and the reason you did not then accept it was because you strongly stand your ground you were mis sold the ppi and it was only fair that the company was to resolve this, because you were out of pocket due to this.;)

Never even heard about an SAR, will check it out now, thanks.

At the original time of applyingg to FOS I sent them all details Natwest had sent us so they should know. Think i need to sit down and draw up a letter to respond to them, pointing out we had been made a small offer from natwest.

    Thaanks for the help

Please keep us posted, oh and maybe let the FOS know as well that you are waiting for further information from a SAR.;)

    Good luck.

Hi there, i believe they keep data for 6 years, ask why if you have
"no claim" for mi sell why they would offer you a settlement? is it possible you did not receive the ins docs through the post?... and i assume you did this over the phone? i would press with the "you did not do it in a branch" and no ins docs received
