The chances are that you could get a fair bit of your money back from the Associates loan. I have seen the agreements for this lender a few times and they have problems.
secondly for anyone who wants to make a claim you need the account number for the loan. without this the lenders will know that you have destroyed the paperwork and will often claim that they have too.
If you dont have the agreement number just call them and ask them for the details without making any mention of a claim. Usually they will oblige after you have jumped over a few security hoops.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

Hi peter
Well I am having problems obtaining the info from them. I called and said that I need to get some details of previous loans. Gave them 2 addresses(one loan at 2 different addresses), hubby name and mine and postcodes and was told cannot find anything under either. However to write in and give the info and they would get back to me IF they could find anything. Bit concerned as one was paid off when we moved in 2001 (july), the other when we remortgaged in 2003. So not talking donkeys years.0 -
The lender has to keep this stuff for at least 7 years for Inland Revenue puproses so they will have it. The problem is that most people who are seeking these details are looking to make a claim and the lenders know it.
I swear that some lenders have set up new departments that specifically provide mis-information.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

So shall I just write? They obviously do not want to give this info on the phone. I could incorporate the request for statements, PPI info and terms and conditions all at the same time. What do you think?0

The trouble is that if you do that you will definitely identify what you are about. I would stick to just receiving the account details in writing. Once you have that info you can then SARN.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

On the 29/03/1999 I bought a brand new Fridge Freezer Model 8496 N from Scotich Power. I bought a Domestic Insurance which was to run untill April 2003. which was to give me cash back if I had made no claim.
When I applied for the cashback I was asked to send the original cert which I did after making a copy to the London General Insurance Co. Ltd. Combine House, The Administrator, 15 Wheatfield Way, Kingstone upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2PQ. after two further letters which also recived no reply I gave up
Conclusion never to buy anything from Scotish Power ever again.0 -
having successfully reclaimed bank charges, i thought i would try with the PPI that i was sold in January 2000, through Lloyds TSB.
Lloyds however deny my right to reclaim because the sale of the PPI was over 6 years ago. Lloyds still have the paperwork and were able to provide with the the policy number which i hadnt kept myself, so it's not that they no longer have the paper. Lloyds dont even deny having misold, and are currently relying on the time issue.
i do want to pursue this, but will have to make my own template as the site does not currently cover this eventuality.
i will keep you posted as to how i progress.0
