Maybe you are lucky enough not to have any then, check your agreement if you can find it, or I suppose you could always contact them and ask, but I am pretty sure they would be shown on your statements as some kind of charge.Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.0 -
I have just recived a reply back from Crapital One on reclaiming my ppi charges on my credit card..
It states that they do not belive i have been misold ppi on my account as when i activated the account by telephone customers are asked to hear a ltd version of the terms and condidtions whilst on the phone and the full list would have been sent by post..
in dec 03!! they said i dont fall in the catogary of those missold ppi as these people have already been contacted and action has been taken..
Any adviced from any body would be appriciated..do i just leave it or send a second letter then take it to the FO?
Dont really know where i stand as cant remeber details for 2003!!!
Hi Saver mum,
I have sent a letter to Crapital One to claim my PPI and I was sent near enough the same letter! They must have a standard letter to send out. I applied over the internet so I am going to send a second letter asking them to supply me with a copy of the application on the internet as I can't remember all of the details and keep trying until they pay up!
Let me know if and when you hear anything more and I'll do the same.0 -
just noted my previous posting. i forgot to include that although the PPI was sold as part of the loan in 2000, the loan was for a 5 year period and repaid in 2004. i think this then means that i still fall within 6 year period. i do hope so? someone please correct me if i am wrong. due to the postal strike, i faxed the bank yesterday with a second letter threatening FOS. if i need to back track i would rather hold my hands up and do this sooner rather than later.0

Dowloaded Martin's templates & sent the letters to Halifax for ppi reclaim, only to be told that "After checking our records, I can confirm that unfortunately we don't hold any copies of your personal loan application forms on our file."
The loan was taken out 5 years ago and was paid-off in April 2007.
Should I go to the FOS?
Has anyone else been here?0 -
Hi all,
Quick question from a newbie - how do I know if can claim for mis-selling PPI - had it on differents cards/loans over the years but cant remember if I ever was told it was optional or not - however I do know I was definitely not tolds that i could try and purchase it elsewhere if I wanted.
Is this grounds ???

Just got a reply back from Barclays from the mis-selling of PPI and would like to know what you all think of my chances are of getting a refund. It says that they investigates, the application was by phone, they have no access to the advisor who offered the policy, or a copy or a script of the phone call. They go on to stae they have not hidden the cost of the policy from me and based on this information they cannot supportyh that I was mis-sold. however, in my letter to them there were other points. These were
· your salesperson was very pushy in selling me the policy so that I felt I could not say no.
· your salesperson implied that taking out the policy was essential for me to get the associated credit even though I informed them that I already had alternative insurance cover.
· your salesperson did not give me full information on what the policy would and would not cover .
Nowhere in my letter does it mention about cost. it finishes by saying that if they dont here from me in 8 wks then the case will be closed and if i am not happy with the response then I may be able to ask the finacial ombudsman to review the complaint.
I have responded by fax this evening as I can not trust the post offfice at this time. My response is as follows:-
I note your remarks but sadly have to disagree with your comments. At the time the insurance was offered to me, I suffered from a pre existing medical condition and to this day continue to suffer from it. At no time in the conversation with your representative was the fact that pre exiting medical conditions were not covered. If it had been mentioned to me then I would certainly have not have taken out the policy. I am sorry I did not make this clear to you in my original letter dated 25th September 2007. However, I did state that your sales person did not give me information on what the policy would and would not cover.
I therefore reiterate that unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

Has anyone claimed from the CO OP bank yet and won? Ive written to them and received one letter saying they were dealing with it and would contact me within 7 days. 7 days later I recieved another letter saying it is taking longer than expected and would be another 7 days. So was wondering if anyone else has heard either way.0

Want to come to Martin's latest ITV1 reclaim school?
ITV1’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald programme is looking for people willing to be filmed as part of a PPI Reclaim School, to be conducted by yours truly. To take part you need to be available for the day on Friday 19th October, in central London (travel expenses could be paid).
The programme is all about reclaiming the insurance that comes mainly with loans, but also mortgages, credit cards and store cards. So if you think you may have a PPI reclaiming case e.g. you weren't told you had the insurance, you were told it was compulsory, you were unemployed and sold unemployment cover or more and want to come along so i can explain how you can get your money back, that'd be great.
Important
The reclaim school is for those who haven't started the reclaim process; its not for those who are in the middle of it. The idea is to explore whether you're eligible for a reclaim.
What you need to do
If you fit the bill, are available and not camera-shy, come along and I’ll tell you what you need to do to get your cash back. For more details, please contact Rebecca at the Tonight programme by e-mail Rebecca.hoggarth@itv.com
Thanks

Hi my husband's been paying £25 a month PPI on his AMEX card for the last 6 years. He didn't know he was paying this but how do we prove that he didn't know so that we can reclaim? He probably wasn't eligible for it anyway as he's been made redundant twice in that time and is now self-employed. What are our chances of claiming it back?
did it show on his statement?0
