Everyone,
Just to alert you to individuals that promise to assist you, take your details and then disappear off the face of the earth. I met one of these on this site - never gained anything other than my email address, perhaps stupidly scanned and sent agreement details and have heard very little since. The company I'm claiming the PPI off have not heard from anyone either - in any event I would need to sign authority for a third party and didn't - SO BE WARNED AND BE CAREFUL.
If you would like to know who this was I'm happy to tell you privately.0 -

Have had a response to my first letter saying they have listened to the telephone call between OH and telesales woman and that they believe they didn't mis sell as he agreed to PPI. This was back in June 2005, do they hold tapes that long? I've asked for a copy in my second letter and that I strongly dispute what they are saying0

Hi cmac have you tried the FLA website first before you send a letter sending court action. As i've said before try and go through an arbitrator first if possible. Court should only be taken if the case is open and shut and you know exactly what you wish to reclaim in amount. The arbitrator's can work this figure out for you and carry out all the leg work without you getting stressed.
Hi M Colak i went on that site and thought it said they would not look at anything that the FOS had looked at first?? going back to check now before i post that lettter. A million thanks and i agree with Laini you are a star.0 -

If the case can't be looked at by the FOS because of the date of the loan that doesn't mean that the've looked into it mate.0 -

I took out a loan with Halifax complete with PPI in Nov 2005.
At the time I informed the salesperson that I was on a career break from work and not due back to work until Dec 2008.
I would like to know whether I would have been considered to be working (as I was still employed, but not getting paid) or would I have been considered to be a stay at home parent?

Have you written to say you wish to cancel it ?
surely they cant make you have it- did you say to them if it was optional to take it , it should be optional to cancel it.
I would ask for the terms and conditions of the PPI to see what you have agreed to.
Laini xx
PS well done on claiming from FP I am battling with them and Nemo Finance at the moment through FOS would be grateful of any pointers on how you handled them.:huh:still fighting for my money !!!0
