I have tried making a complaint with the FSO about a PPI claim with Dial-4-a-loan. D4AL have never replied to me either in writing or on the phone so I took my complaint to the FSO...but because D4AL were not members of the GISC (General Insurance Council) at the time of the loan being taken out, they cannot proceed further.
What other steps can I take to pursue this??

after watching the program last night i am thinking of making a claim because i am sure i was never asked if i wanted the insurance - it was just automatically added when i got the card and i was too stupid to question it.

Yes my claim is with the FOS, basically egg said you signed/ticked box etc so !!!!!! off no money for you, but on the on line form it seems as though the insurance is already in the box and we should have unticked it! no where does it say optional so you think its compulsory. These people are so crafty, hope this helps, just keep going.0 -
Hi,
Not sure on right page, but I have had a credit card for years. I was given this by my bank when I was very young and "green" about things and so just used it, paid it off etc. Anyway, back in 2000 I was made redundant and so when I phoned the credit card company to let them know I couldn't really pay the bills and if I could pay at a lower rate until I found work again they then informed me I had insurance and could claim, so I did. After that I just forgot about it and carried on paying the insurance in with my credit card bill, and I still am, (although I have tried to find info on this site about companies which may be cheaper, but am still looking!) would I be able to claim anything back as for the first 10 years or so of having this card I didn't know I had insurance etc. Do you think that because I have claimed on it I wouldn't be entitled to anything?
Sorry this seems a bit dim but I could really do with a bit of guideance on this. Have been coming to this site for a while and it has helped me no end, and saved me a lot of money, but some things just aren't that easy to do if you're not too sure.
Any help appreciated.:D
Thanks

Both LPI's ran til 2003/2004 ( even though the first should have finished in 99 ) so yes both within 6 years. Is there a law i can quote stating that they have to hold documents for 6 years as LTSB are saying their own law is that it is 3 years from date of signing??0

Well my complaint to the ombudsman about First Plus was posted off yesterday - with a copy sent to First Plus as courtesy
I also emailed the MD and got a letter back today from the Head of Complaints saying that she has reviewed my case and was happy that I was given all the information and that I don't have a case....0 -

I have just received a response to my letter of complaint (sent registered post on Monday and theirs received today dated 26th Feb) apparently they are going to telephone me to discuss. It's a standard letter about complaints -no reference to the PPI!
I originally took out a Boots Advantage Card which they subsequently changed to the Egg Card. I don't remember signing up for payment protection for the BAC but unfortunately can't prove this.
At the time of the changeover from Boots to Egg all I received was a rather confusing letter (apologising for an earlier letter they'd supposedly sent but not received by me - all about their green card as opposed to their blue card). When the changeover occurred they did not ask me to sign anything else.
I have simply said that I was given no choice about payment protection at the changeover and I am objecting to this. It's probably a long shot and I have asked them to cancel the PPI anyway.
Anyone else with any advice, I'd be grateful.0 -
Has any one got a refund from Northern Rock Loans, I ticked the Gold options after the bloke told me I'd need it due to my circumstances and credit score, I've done the initial letter and wondered if there were many returns from N Rock0

I looked at my annual mortgague statement and i noticed on there that at the same time as the direct debit for the mortgage ammount, there is also an 'Insurance' ammount taken out every month.
What I'm not sure of is this insurance payment another terminolgy for PPI?
If it is an I too late to claim as we completed our mortgage last month.0
