Hi Googleman.
I will need more information but will gladly assist if I can.
Thank you petermb, I have sent you a PM to ask what info you would need.
On behalf of us all, thank you for your contributions to this forum, we all think this is a real mindfield.
Kind regards.Because life is complicated enough!

I posted yesterday about Capital One but don't think anyone else is experiencing the same problems with this company.
What I need to know is...
I am in financial difficulties and need to write to Cap 1 to tell them to stop all action on my account. Will the ongoing dispute I have with them be affected by my doing so? I would have thought that the issue of their mis-selling of the policy is a separate issue, but need to know if this request will impact on my claim.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
X
I wish you well with Capital One. I put them in the same field as GE Money!
I suppose it would depend on what point of action they have so far taken with your account and perhaps a few more details would be needed, for example have you had your debt transferred to a recover agency or are you maintaining an agreed payment plan. This will help someone to maybe give a bit more advice to you. I've been a long time surfer but only recently joined the forum and everyone is very helpful so someone will have advice for you I am sure. Keep smilin!
Kind regardsBecause life is complicated enough!

Ring them, I was on first name terms with the "complaints exec" lol got an offer but have refused it and waiting for their response - how long since you first wrote to them? I would wait the 8 weeks from first letter, before sending the second, but give them a ring first0

( I had previously written asking for a copy of my original agreement so maybe they anticipated the first template letter & sent the bog standard 'fob off' letter anyway!!) Might try ringing my 'complaint executive' as you suggest, just so she knows that i WILL NOT settle for anything less than my full entitlement! Thanks for the advice.
Hi
You can always email them - usually their first name.surname @firstplus.co.uk -

Hi guys. Some more help please.
In one of Martin's template letters, it states "I am requesting a refund of premiums paid and and subsequent interest. As i believe I have been deprived of the money, i also expect 8% statutory interest, to be added to each payment made."
My question is this, is this 8% per annum? My policy dates back to 2002, so when calculating the interest, do i add 8% p/m for every year since or just once? Hello All
A quick question about PPI reclaiming:
I have a First Plus Loan obtained through Loans.Co.Uk
Do I write 1st template letter to First Plus or Loans.co.uk????
Many Thanks0 -

Each payment will have differed, yes. But do I add 8% onto each month since or just whilst I had the card?Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean. For more info, its a credit card, so i've calculated I paid £561.41 over 2 years. They have offered me a round figure "taking into account interest" they say, of £600. I'm just checking that I am not due more than this before accepting their offer. This may sound greedy, but I always get suspicious when banks offer more than they need to.Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -
Hi
In response to the Firstloans.co.uk query............you will need to write to the first point of contact. I know, as recently started on my quest to get PPI refunds from 2 loans, one with GE money and went through AWD Finance, the other with First Plus and went through Norton Finance. Having written first to the lenders they pass you off to the brokers. Just waiting for responses now from the brokers and only 6 weeks down the line! will let you know of any success/failures.
