  • Heard Martin on Jeremy Vine re PPI . Took his template letter and sent it to Firstplus. They have responded in writing advising me that they did not actually sell me the loan and PPI but another company called Central Capital Ltd did. I have never heard of this company and all correspondence and telephone conversations I had were, I believed, with Firstplus. My monthly direct debit is paid to Firstplus. Can they pass the blame on to another company?

I've just been reviewing both this thread and the successes/failures threads to see if anyone has received a response from Central Capital/Central Trust - I haven't found anything yet!

I sent my letter off to Central Capital and am waiting on a response, so I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything since the forum seems to be quite quiet on mentions of Central.....

As I have said previously they responded to me saying they are looking into it.

Today my wife called to say we had missed a special delivery from presumably them as it was adressed to me and my wifes maiden name. I cant pick it up until tomorrow so I will let you know then.

hello Carol Emmerson. Central Capital are a broker based in Norwich.
First Plus are attempting to fob you off. Dont allow them to. i have sent you a pm to discuss as i have experience with First Plus.

However, I have since seen the light.
  • Anyone had any luck with Natwest?

They wrote to me telling me that they would be in touch by 22/11 with an answer - i got a letter 23/11 saying they were still investigating and would be in touch again within 2 weeks - is this a good or bad sign?

    Dont know to be honest.
As far as I know, it was added on top of the loan amount. as you say a single premium policy. My current loan agreement does not show te inforamtion (obviouly becuase I canceled it)

So you have no paperwork for the old loan? Send of a SAR, it's going to be difficult to prove anything without knowing the facts first.

petermb - excuse my for butting in but I'm now confused and I hope you can help - I took my loan out with Paragon and they stated that Central Capital (being the brokers) were responsible for the sale of my loan and insurance. Who exactly should I be chasing; the brokers Central Capital, or the lenders Paragon??

My original letter was to Paragon and now I am chasing Central Capital. Should I still be chasing Paragon or am I right in chasing Central??

    Confused....

    You should be chasing Paragon.
Unless Central arranged a stand alone payment protection policy, you will have been provided with cover set up by the lender themselves. I have no doubt that you will have a claim against them for this issue (ppi) but I would imagine there is more to go at besides this.

I guess so yeah - I sent the 1st letter saying i wanted an answer within 14 days (they replied within 3) but keep putting me off?

    What do I do next?

Are you having any luck with them?

    xx

  • Can I claim back the insurance I paid on Mortgage protection plan. I paid the insurance for 3 years. When made redundant I made a claim that they wouldn't honour because I didn't claim unemploymnet benefit. I cancelled the policy because apparently I didn't need it but would now like to reclaim because I believe I was mis-sold the policy in the first instance.

    Thanks
