I have a FreedomPop SIM and am travelling to Majorca next month, staying at an apartment with wifi access. Does anyone know if FreedomPop wifi calling from Majorca to the UK is free (if within the call allowance)?
Also, can the Freedompop data service be used abroad?0 -

and their own site explains it, if not answered here (there)0 -
Nothing on the FreedomPop site (uk.freedompop.com) answers my specific question re. wifi calling, or the question re. international data usage, as far as I can see.
I can see international add-ons available, offering call airtime but not mentioning data. There's no mention of the situation re. wifi calling though - i.e. whether you need an international add-on to make wifi calls.
I also trawled through all 10 pages of the MSE thread link that you posted. There was one mention of an international plan, but the link in the post directed me back to the main UK FreedomPop page, which had no mention of international usage.
I've emailed them to see if their support are able to help. Previous experience wasn't great when I tried it.0 -
They don't offer international roaming but the WiFi access (via the app) should work unless they've restricted it to UK IP addresses. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You would be better off getting a Three sim and putting so much on there and use it as part Three's feel at home service.0

This will work, using either wifi or a local SIM with data. I've done so with both in the last couple of weeks.
To clarify, you don't actually need a FreedomPop SIM in the phone, just run the application. Just as well anyway, as it doesn't have any roaming.
In case anyone else remembers mention of it, there is a separate FreedomPop product which is a data SIM for roaming in certain countries, but it isn't clear whether they actually launched it here, maybe just to US customers so far.0 -
Hi All
does anyone use freedompop sim, how good is the network?
Basic 200
Price: Only £0.00/month.
This service includes the following:
200 Voice Minutes
200 Text Messages
200 MB Data
and its says free whatsapp
is this all true? What happens if you push this button?0 -
FreedomPOP is working well, and appears to be expanding with a new rollout in Spain recently. It does work well in the UK, good coverage on 3 network.
However I doubt its going to work roaming abroad (unless on wifi).
Personally I'm planning to be 80% in NZ, 20% in UK for the next few years, so I'm looking at:
when in UK: Three Feel at Home pay-as-you-go £5 per month
+ top up data from FreedomPop
when in NZ: Three Feel at Home pay-as-you-go £20 per month
+ some local NZ pay as you go SIM?
Any better ideas for an international coverage solution??0 -

You might want to go check the terms and conditions for Feel at Home before making that New Zealand plan...====0 -
Yes, that is where it gets slightly more complicated. The 3 Feel at Home sim can be used for 2 months abroad at a time.
The SIMs are free though, so I have 8...0
