I usually do mine before otherwise it looks really grey after she straightens it etc x

Jeeze Im painting a pretty picture. gangy feet and grey hair !

    Lovely picture  :rotfl:
That's a good question and one I've pondered over myself a few times...

I guess it depends on the amount of grey and your style..if your hair is straight or curly and it's only just visible you may want to wait until after but if your hair is straight and it's more than the roots it may be more visible after being straightened etc,

Is it a semi permanent colour? is there a risk of an over zealous trainee washing half of the colour away down the sink ...
If you were to colour after a cut you'd have more colour to cover your hair....

Not really answered your question:o but something to think about...

I decided to colour mine after as I was going from long to just above shoulder level so had more colour solution to colour it properly rather than trying to make one bottle stretch...

I just want them to do a dry trim and relayering so I can straighten it myself later. Not much grey, but a lot of blonde which has come through in the last few weeks. I'm going back dark brown again.

I'm gonna colour it after, as you said, it's a waste of dye putting it on hair that's gonna be cut off again :rotfl:

Does anyone else on here run? I've never been athletic but my weight loss plateaued after Christmas so I've started using the free NHS couch to 5K app. I'm on week 4 now and the jogging sections are getting longer so I think I ought to get some proper trainers. Anyone have any recommendations for where to look for some decent shoes that won't break the bank? I've looked on Sports Direct but there is soooo much choice and I haven't got a clue where to start.

    Hi Logie
I've also never run until I started C25K. I am also on Week 4. (Will be week 4 run 2 tomorrow). I'm just using basic pumps at the moment as I don't want to invest until I know if I'm gonna stick with it.
All my friends are into running and triathalons and have been for years. I think if you go out for cheap trainers it will be a false economy in the long run (pun intended).
Locally we have a shop called Birmingham runner. They put you on a machine which calculates the way you run and give a reading which means staff can recommend the best trainer for the way you as an individual run.
It does cost around £150 though so I'm delaying it.
I have had problems with my left calf muscle, but I'm trying to put up with it for now

I started this, then was at the point of giving up. Went on holiday and now doing brisk walks to build up to it again.

My sister is a serious runner and she says you have to get shoes that match your gait. So you do need a specialist shop.

I'm having the works done on Wednesday. Any hairdressers I've been to seem to dye it first then cut it. Don't know why that is? Always seems a bit strange to me to be dying hair they're going to cut off....... I think I'd feel self conscious having it cut when it needed dyeing.

In other news, the garage have just rang and my car needs £345 of work doing to pass its MOT  :( rather gutted.

Sorry to hear about your car. :(

Is it a garage you trust, or worth ringing round for some quotes?

If you can, try an independent shop to get your gait assessed. They'll recommend you some trainers and if they're too pricy, you will have a feel for what you need in other shops :)

Cut first that way your hair pollutant hasn't as much hair to cover plus if you colour first some will get washed off at the salon. hth

I hate having my feet touched, very tickly and yet a podiatrist can handle my trotters without me flinching

I'm going cut first.:) both of the hairdressers I have used previously used to to the opposite

Can you get quotes for the work from other garages? MG put his bike through MOT and was told he needs a grands worth of work doing- I'm just waiting for him to get it out of the garage so I can take pics to email to a couple of other garages for quotes :money:

We are at exactly the same point then, I did first week 4 run yesterday morning so run 2 tomorrow. Managed far better than I expected considering a few weeks ago I was willing her to tell me that 60 seconds were up :o :rotfl:
I'll have to see if there's somewhere local that friends can recommend then. I was thinking that £40-50 would be treating myself  I might wait a bit longer, though part of me thinks it'll encourage me to stick with it if I've spent some money. All very :money: at the moment. Just spent a couple of £ on an armband to hold my phone.

Oh !!!! off you old cretin. I used to like you too until you admitted to being Tory scum.

Sorry - you have crossed a line there.

Personal insults are uncalled for. I thought the view was to leave politics on the old thread, and not bring them over here.
