Well after the "You unsubscribed when you didnt" email fiasco and then sending out the same tesco giftcard code to everyone...I'm sure their email "services" are red hot at the moment so keep trying. As soon as I got the new one I used it online because I really don't trust them. Keep at it :)

Ive just taken DS1 out to breakfast....he had a really difficult week last week with the exams and it was good for us to talk it through and clear the air.

Apparently in his words the C1 maths paper was brutal and it seems that most 17 year olds in the country taking it had a similar view...there is I understand a you tubie vid which perhaps paints a more sinister description of it..although its not for the faint hearted who dont like "language" so I wont dare post a link!!!!

The fact that he didnt do so well in the exam has knocked his confidence going forward, and hes starting to doubt his ability in other subjects too...

Oh how I hate exam season!!!!!!
    onwards and upwards...physics tomorrow....

Re the house and contents insurance renewal I was doing last week.

Last year I was with !!!!!! as they gave me a good quote and a gift card :D but this years renewal notice said they wanted £277

so I went via the usual route on getting quotes - there is a good MSE How To guide on the main pages somewhere, worth looking for - its something you only do once a year so its worth checking you are doing everything OK.

I went via Topcashback and confused.com and that gave me £2.32 in my TCB pending column. Apparently you can do 3 quotes a year so its worth putting a note on your calender

A company called Policy Expert were at the top of the list.

I'd also noticed them under their own webpage on TCB so I went to Policy expert and got a quote, again it all looked good but the TCB instructions were a bit confusing.

Also it said £65.65 cashback if you bought a policy online so that looked very good.

In the meantime I wanted to do some background research and find some reviews on the company so I just clicked off, didn't save the quote.

A few mins later I got a call from them. The girl said she was from Policy Expert and she dealt directly and only with cashback quotes and she saw I'd done a quote online . She said I'd not got legal expenses added so she adjusted this with not much difference to the price.
I also then went through with her all of my must have items - UK call centres, open 24 hours a day, new for old, personal possessions etc. And she did the same, that I'd inputted everything correctly and we adjusted the excess.
She also said that my cashback would initially track at 0 but then it would go into the pending column 90 days later - £70.70 - as I'd used the call and buy service

so I then went through - full annual payment through my shiny new Hilton Honours cc card.

Email with details came through seconds later

    £148.12 instead of the £277 !!!!!! wanted :T
So even if there is a delay or a tussle getting the cashback its still cheaper than the renewal price.

Ive had written confirmation today and also a slip which says if I recommend anyone we both get £25 Marks vouchers so I will have to see if eldest childs contents insurance is due - but possibly you cant have cashback as well as marks vouchers (and its less cashback for contents only)

Does anyone have a Dyson cordless vacuum? Are they worth the money please?
(I'm looking at the Dyson specifically because I have a bad back and it seems a lot lighter than other cordless vacuum's)

no personal experience but from what Ive read they seem to have very short battery lifes

Morning luvlies, I'm so pleased. Had my eye on a fab new Dyson on T site which is £100 off at the moment, down from £369. It's been in and out of stock for the past few weeks so set up a stock alert. Last night I added it to my basket awaiting the double up ;).

I've just bought it :D, added the £20 off £150 spend code from the main site plus 2 mighty deals codes and paid the rest of with my saved cc vouchers. I am so happy as my other Dyson is 12 years old and making the most horrendous racket and giving off an awful smell so this came just in time :D

    I can't stop smiling :j

    Off for a catch up

I had had no correspondence from mighty deals apart from them taking money from my account:eek:
    I emailed them last night
This morning I now have 8 redemption emails  unfortunately they are all the same code;) so I could only redeem 1 the 1 I was expecting. so that's sorted.
but....I still have nothing in my TCB account re the Hilton honours, has anyone else had any problems although I have my card :(

I missed the weekend so quick catch up today- I had more important things on the agenda lots of hugs and cuddles with baby grandson he's 5 weeks old today,:):T how quickly time flies
