WishI'dReadSooner wrote: »I'm just too young to be having all these problems. I just KNOW it's my hormones, I've been saying this to doc for years. When surgeon suggested that nearly all the problems might be down to hormones upsetting everything I just wanted to shout out YES! YES! - at last someone realises what I've been saying all along!
I'm hopeful that once he sends his detailed report to doctor (being fair to him he spent a LONG time with me explaining all the problems & why he couldn't help) that all the necessary tests will be done & that they can sort me out. I was sent to endrocrinologist for the excessive sweating I have on my face (I can have a shower from my face, even when I'm cold) & sadly I didn't realise, until I saw the surgeon, a week later, that I should have impressed on her all the other problems - the appt. was a last minute cancellation & I didn't know why I'd been sent to her, until she told me it was about the facial sweating.
TBH I've known about the cervical & lumber problems for many years & I've lived with those with minor flare-ups - I had a nasty fall down concrete steps 20+yrs ago when I shattered my left elbow. I was put on traction them for my neck and the traction pulled my lower back out!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that once my hormones are sorted that I can have some relief. I'm frightened they've left it too long to help with all the problems that have developed BUT I'm still hopeful.
What a worry for you. I hope you get some answers at last.0 -
Morning all
Does anyone have a Dyson cordless vacuum? Are they worth the money please?
(I'm looking at the Dyson specifically because I have a bad back and it seems a lot lighter than other cordless vacuum's)
I have one that I keep upstairs for the bedrooms. It is nice and easy but wouldn't be good enough to use as the main vacuum for the living room.0 -
Just seen these tremendous dollies on Sky News this morning. They design each one individually.

So brilliant if you have a wee one learning to cope with their disability or for their wee pals. I know maybe not everyone will think this is a good idea but its reality xxx0 -
I like you suffer with my back from time to time and don't know re the dyson but invested in an Oreck many years ago and it is still going strong and is very light even when taking upstairs so in my opinion a good investment for those with a back problem :T
ThanksI'll have a look at them

ThanksI live alone so it probably wouldn't get too much use, do you think it would cope with a weekly run through of four rooms?

dysons are big and still quite heavy....
VAX didnt seem to get the suction as good as I wanted
so I optrd for the air ram...but its not good on stairs!
possibly I need a combination of all 3 but I guess its more based on how you plan to use them....something with a hose is far better for stairs but then the air ram pushes round really easily...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

A fellow sufferer here, hope you get it sorted as my back is shot and they also said an op would be of little benefit....my wrists are really bent now due to the arthritis, its agony.
I have recently found I have an underactive thyroid (hromones) and the meds have helped but the joint pain is still just as bad if not worsemy friend says its becaust they are only treating part of the thyroid problem and not looking at the whole thing. She has researched and eventually got her appointment to an endrocrinologist so hope it helps you...chin up xxxxx
p.s I'm in my early fifities.
Dont know why this is so bold ..sorry x0 -

Plenty of good places to go,....kennedy space center is about the closest we get to touristy...but there are some lovely places round that area for seafood...
Have a look at the amway center in orlando to see whats on basketball or ice hockey can be very good or even a concert
Winter park is just a lovely place for a wander around and theres a lovely little boat trip you can go in to see the big houses...
de leon springs has the most wonderful cook your own pancakes in the sugar mill....its a recreation park and quite nice to get away from the hustle and bustle on a nature trail.
daytona has a lovely beach area
What sort of thing do you want to do...and how far do you want to travel???
some lovely shopping malls dotted around orlando with discount outlets too.
