Sat/Sun 9th/10th May 2015 - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??

Morning everyone
wow congratulation foxgloves! Go you. My oh wants to get involved in local politics, but I'm worried about how much time that will take up!
I know what you mean about feeling down after the election. I just can't believe that so many people drank the coolade and am worried for all the things that are likely to happen over the next 5 years with an untethered tory party
Anyway small things for today:
* [STRIKE]hang washing out on line & do another load[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]fold up clothes to put away[/STRIKE] (Konmari fashion of course)
* going to get ready in a minute as have a playdate with a friend I haven't seen for over a year and her little one :T opps wrong weekendIt's next week instead....
* take snacks and drink for dgd at soft play and will just get a coffee myself while there
* [STRIKE]get mince out of freezer to make a big batch of spag/chilli/shepperds pie for the next couple of days/week[/STRIKE]
* sort out finances
* Continue KonMaringLiterally love this! Tidied up downstairs last night when I put dgd and it honestly took me about 20 minutes to tidy up, put toys away, vacuum and mop lounge and hall floor & dust lounge and hallway including skirting boards :T
* possibly meeting up with another friend later for a walk along the beach
* get ready for the week ahead. Am going to Birmingham on Tuesday for a couple of days for work
Ok think that's all I need to do/will have time for. Have a great day!DF as at 30/12/16

Me too!!! Thank you so much for the tip off! :T
I bought the book yesterday and went through all of my clothes. I've started with jewellery today for some reason (just cos I was in that room) and then going to do shoes, so not following her order strictly...
Clearing out really does teach you stuff about yourself though, doesn't it?! I've found that most of the clothes I got rid of were things people gave me (either as hand-me-downs or as gifts) or things that I bought without trying on (either online or in charity shops)!! This behaviour must stop! I'm going to be thankful for the gifts and what my dodgy purchases taught me and 'set them free' :rotfl:
Now trying to work through everything on my list from yesterday because I did nothing but clear out!
Happy Sunday everyone :beer:0 -

Have you read the bit about giving your cast offs to others yet? Really got me thinking about a lot of my clothes being either given to me, second hand impulse buys (other people's cast offs). At the same time as getting this book I got a free kindle book "1000 outfits from just 30 pieces" both really helpful books. Get it you won't be disappointed!
My bff came round and bought me a top in a CS yesterday. It was so lovely of her but it's not going into my clothes, didn't have the heart to tell her!
Since Konmaring my tops & underwear last week, getting ready in the morning has been so much easier! :rotfl:

Up bright and early this morning. Lots of relaxing to be done today:

:grinheart Blitz the kitchen with Stardrops and washable cloths.
:grinheart Trip to Ikea. Will try to stick to list. <cough> I've said that before.
:grinheart Meals from stores.
:grinheart Check to see if Gas/Elec bill is online. Should've been there by now.
:grinheart Locate documents required for tomorrow's conversion.
Freebies:
:grinheart Free sample Always Discreet (Link)
:grinheart Free £10 Taxi Ride with Uber (Link)
Competition:
:grinheart Win a Starbucks voucher? (Link)
News:
:grinheart Martin Lewis' guide to beating the Sky price rise due in June. (Link)
:grinheart Read this if you'll be hiring a car after 8 June. You'll need to show a Gov.uk code on collection or be turned away. (Link)
That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Ninjas.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Afternoon all
For me today:
Brunch from freezer - chicken and mushroom slice and potato wedges, I didn't fancy it at all but it was quite nice once it was on the plate.
Defrost something for dinner tonight - It'll probably be mince for spag bol. Done, and cooked the sauce ready to reheat later so I don't have the excuse I have no time! There may even be enough to go on jacket potatoes tomorrow :T
Trip to Mr S later for reduced loaf of bread or sub rolls for lunches for the week.
Upload a couple of more things to ebay, one is already photographed, need to do the other. One up, one to go!
With a bit of jiggerypokery between accounts I can make it to payday without having to transfer any of my first time emergency fund money back. I have however changed the SO to just £200 this month (so it will average at £300 per month for this month and last) and from then on I'll make it £300 per month, I think £400 was a bit ambitious
I'm taking my mum to bingo tonight as she is currently sans car, that will cost around £5 but one or other of us usually wins so I should get it back.
Have a great day allMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Ooh, I'll check that book out too.
Bless your bff - gifts are the hardest thing I've found. It did really get me thinking about cast offs too - if it's not something I would be willing to buy myself then it's not coming into my wardrobe!I'm not burdening my cast offs on anyone - straight to the 0xfam bin (save for one jacket that my sister was actually going to buy :T).
This is by far the quickest clear out method I've ever used btw. Amazing! Whenever you start to trust your gut instinct on the joy front the ruthlessness is hard to curb!

Managed to de-clutter 2 pairs of shoes (that rubbed) yesterday and have a bag of jiffy envelopes to be collected, as well as quite a bit of stuff to be taken up to school tomorrow (bag of junk, box of craft stuff and two small wooden crates that will be for role play area when it's a shop) - so although it appears (to me) to be a slow process, it's all moving in the right direction and I'm shocked at how much I can still find to de-clutter.

Same here. I had 18 bath towels! I did find a lovely hand knitted blanket MIL made me when I was pregnant with DS1 though - 17 years ago. That has been kept.
Clearing out definitely does make you think about the value of stuff.
Oh and I had a bit of a disaster last night because I called into the supermarket with OH and the kids and spent far too much. Its hard sometimes to constantly say no to things without sounding really miserable. That means a bit of tightening on the grocery budget for the rest of the month.
Other than that slip up I will be starting the new week on a fairly positive front!0 -

Ziggy - have you read Marie Kondo's book? You'd love it! :A0
