FWIW, I use the soft foam earplugs. I often wake up with one or more missing - they are usually found eventually - but that isn't a problem unless Mr HB is really loud, in which case I just reach for a spare!

    I knew it wasn't me.

Up at 545, while a party is next door. Do people not work like I do as I'm up in half an hour with no sleep.

Plugs didnt work because my bedroom is next to his lounge.

Same issue last bank holiday Monday.

Had to go into living room both times. But then I get some road noise due to large lounge sliding window doors.

Since I started this thread, about a year into my place, things seemed to calm a little, but last few months have crept up.

I DON'T MIND the odd Friday or Saturday noise, but this has become inconsiderate and the noise is CLEARLY EXCESSIVE on the last few occasions. Like now.

He did , for the first Time, knock on my door a few weeks ago ( a bit drunk), during a little get together on a Saturday saying there woykd be a bit of noise (when it had already started). I said sure no problem (and I appreciated the warning albeit late).

But now it's annoyed me as it was the day up for work.

I know what is in the realm of acceptability, and this is beyond it.

For the first time I'll put a polite request note under his door before i head to work to ask if it's kept down on Sundays especially

or you could move since your a lodger. No point in complaining over something you have no control over, when you can move yourself.

That's why flats/non detached housing are a risk in terms of noise

    There these things called circumstances.

You either accept them or you change them

It seems to me you cannot accept the circumstance of living with neighbours. Who for the most part sound normal and accommodating.

So now you can change them by moving.

The simple fact is when purchasing a flat you're taking a gamble. I got lucky, clearly you believe you didn't.

So you either mitigate it and stay put or sell up. Those really are your only two options.

Accommodating? Did you actually read what I wrote? Seemingly not

How is playing loud music / partying from 1-6am on a Sunday accommodating? Iin who's dictionary is that the case? Actually, don't answer. This and other posts of yours show you simply don't have a clue here. Sorry.
