Halifax ..sure I've always got a Yorkshire accent
I do more phone before going vaguely near a branch, although my nearest was open until 7pm day before Good Friday this year
Perhaps it pays to be their 'kind of person!' LOL!

I have now emailed telling them I am currently left £165 out of pocket, they put me on hold yesterday and hung up after about 5 minutes, expected them to call back, they never did.0

I absolutely agree. FD is my main bank but I have had to ring 1 or 2 others. I hate all the touch button menus and "Your call is important to us" type recorded messages.0 -

Whilst I prefer UK call centres but when I tried Barclays (briefly) I got someone who sounded like Vicky Pollard.

Hello I am with Citibank. I only switched as the £500 overdraft is free. The odd time I ring, the calls are dealt with in Barcelona. And they are really friendly and understand me fine.

Halifax have a call centre in UK but, trust me, the service is so bad you'd be ashamed to be British.0
