PIP claim - CAPITA really are useless

They are supposed to abide by the rules, as much as the claimant is.

There is absolutely no reason for any claimant to do anything other than follow the rules. They do not have to put up with endless crap.

And, I say this as someone that worked for the DWP - so I do understand the system.

Generally, if something is unreasonable you can go (politely!) further up the 'food chain', of staff, and speak to a manager, who are generally more sensible, and have less targets they have to meet.

If that doesn't work whack in a formal complaint - they all have to be logged, and it generally gets things moving!

    Glad it got sorted.

High Court judges have ordered another judicial review into the chaos around disability benefits and processes, due to be carried out later this year:

    Lin ;)

Lin - well said. But the problem is some people just won't complain no matter what. This is the big problem because nothing will changed in they can away with it all the time.

As I said, you should pick your battles that you know you will win. Fighting the DWP is one that invariably you will end up losing.

The issue is that just because you think you are right doesn't mean you are, but you won't know that because if you did, you wouldn't think you were right! That's why sometimes you have to accept some decision that you think are wrong but might just not be if 100, 0r 1000 people were questioned on the matter and decided differently to you for instance.

Of course. But the complaints procedure is there for users to complain if they think something is wrong. If you complain and it doesnt change then fair enough.

Also, appreciate that even if you're right and complain nothing will be done occasionally.

But to sit back and say, aw never mind I should just be grateful, or they treat everyone like that is just wrong. Thats why they get away with it because no-one complains in this country.

Your average Brit doesn't have it in them to complain. If that was not the case then there would have been anarchy during the 2nd world war when everything was rationed.
We Brits just get on with it unlike our moaning cousins over the channel!
You can't change the gene pool of the Anglo Saxons!

    uummmm - that explains everything.

Welsh I presume given your signature.

Two of the greatest feats of building still exist to this day - Offas Dyke & Hadrians Wall - both of which helped to keep us English safe and free in England.

I lived a miserable 8 years of my life there starting with Cardiff, Penarth, Gowerton, Tycroes, finally ending up in Swansea where everyone called each other Jack for some wierd reason?

I found that the main problem with the Welsh was that they spent more time complaining about each other than anything else. They even tried to raise their own army - FWA at one time and demanded that they wanted to have their own bank notes - both ended up in utter failure.

Still they are a likeable breed as breeds go and came to realise early on that an odd shaped ball was more fun when rolling it down one of the many coal tips.

Ha Ha. I might live in Wales but I travel over the border every day to screw money out of my clients in England! :-)

In which case I believe that there are still exchange controls when moving money from England into Wales. You even have the nerve to charge us when we go over the suspension bridge into Wales, yet the Welsh get free movement when coming over to my country. Something very amiss there!

Mind you the border isn't as protected as it once was. Travelling around Chepstow and Monmouth, you appear to go over and back again far too many times. 'Bout time they treated the Bristol Channel as the border, that way with a few gun boats stationed in the channel, we could control things a lot better!
