  • HI, Just read through your diary, you're doing amazingly well keep going don't put anything on your credit card for xmas you'll find a way of getting what you need and still 2 paydays before xmas so plenty of time.

The bonfire sounds good, home fireworks are rubbish they only last a few seconds!

    Well done C x

  • well its been nearly 2 months since I've written in this diary which is very bad! Luckily this doesn't mean i have completely fallen off the wagon. I did struggle at the end of november, and i was really worried my dd to the bigger barclaycard would bounce :( so i hid my head in the sand for a few weeks.I also transferred £500 out of my holiday account to cover it. Anyway its all ok, and i know that ignoring the problem was stupid, and the debt is still slowly going down.

The biggest change may be that the holiday is canceled. I am still looking at the costs but they are just so high at the moment that i am not willing to put my family further into debt to pay for it. The cost has spiralled to nearly £10000 which is just not on. I would rather cancel it than take on that amount of debt.

I will now adjust the signature below. And i will endeavour to get back to focusing on the debt.

Hello! I think you did the right thing with the premium bonds. They aren't a guaranteed income/interest. And for the amount I think it's better off where it is. So you have about £11 left, yea? So you know exactly how long and how much £10 grand is/costs so you know it's not worth it. I think maybe you can still go but fiddle around with the idea a bit. Like maybe go in October or not in half term. You're a machine with cashback! I'm very impressed! I get annoyed as you have to spend money to get it lol. X

well yet again life got in the way of my diary. I have kept up to my credit card payments of £200 to the barclaycard no 1 and £175 to barclaycard 2, bringing the balances down to £2600 and £6272 respectively. Also paid off the interest free kitchen loan of £5500 last month. That is a relief because they wanted to charge interest of about 28% if it went to monthly payments

Now desperately hunting the internet to try to find a cheap summer holiday. Basically, everything is expensive in the school summer holidays! I need to be able to pay for it without it affecting the debt.

Looking back over the initial posts i made last May makes me feel very pleased with the progress i have made. I have paid off three credit cards and paid off a buy now pay later loan, in just over a year. :T

now to pay for a holiday and pay off the last two credit cards x
