Milk thief at work

Evening all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place, mods please move if it isn't!

I buy myself a pint of milk each week to take to work, I write my name on the lid and put it in the communal fridge. Three times in the last four weeks someone has taken the milk, usually mid week when there's at least half a pint still left in it, this is happening overnight and is really peeing me off, this also happens to other people too, they label their milk and someone else helps themself.

Any suggestions other than buying one of those little fridges & keeping it in the office?

Thanks in advance

Wee in it and put it back in the fridge. The culprit will soon stop.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Any of these suitable?
    • For a while, take just the milk you need each day, with the rest stored at home & none left at work overnight
    • Switch to soya / oat / rice / whatever milk, if you like any of them?
    • Replace the milk with Milpar (!!)
    • Put a "Smile! You're on CCTV!" sign on the fridge
    • Lock your milk in a cash box in the fridge
    • Use individual UHT portions
    • Drink something that doesn't need milk - herbal tea, instant hot choc or instant soup?

Everyone puts money in to buy the milk, and they share?

    A list of suspects please...

    say....
The Office Cleaner for a cuppa at break time
The poorly paid Security Guard needing to save money
Early start co-worker needing a coffee
Late finish co-worker needing a coffee.

We could then all speculate to solve who the milk thief is CLUDO style so you can get them all together then confront the culprit with the evidence Agatha Christie style!

    Who's in!!!! ;)

Good suggestions thanks but none of those would work.

There are loads of different companies in the building, plus security guards at night & cleaners in the morning, I did wonder about the cleaners as they are fairly new but I honestly don't know if it is them. I don't think it's other staff as it only goes missing overnight &'food etc in the fridge during the day stays there.

I might just buy one of those little fridges for £20 & keep it in the office, it just really pees me off that people take things that very clearly aren't theirs.

Keep the suggestions coming though, thanks :D

Let one milk go sour and swap it mid week :)
